Without a faucet, preparing a bath isn't easy. You've got to go down to the well, fetch a bucket of water, pour it in the tub, and then repeat, over and over and over again. Aren't you happy faucets exist? All you've got to do is turn the handle, and you've got a bath! That means more bathing, and less water-fetching. Can't argue with that.
Speakman was a street performer who, alongside a fire-breather, sprayed water out of his mouth. Unfortunately for Speakman, the fire-breather always drew the big crowds, and eventually Speakman had to retire. He took his passion for water into the bath and shower business instead.
