If You Have a Bunn Coffee Maker, You Need Bunn Coffee Filters
By Windsor Bear on Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2025
All coffee filters are NOT created equal. I have tried the third party filters, and while they do filter, they don't do it as well as original Bunn coffee filters. The Bunn filters are the CORRECT HEIGHT for my Bunn coffee maker and that is usually the main problem I have with third party filters as they are usually shorter and grounds just seem to slip by and get into the pot. Also, there is a definite difference in coffee taste when using Bunn filters... to me, the coffee just tastes better. The only issue I have with Bunn coffee filters is sometimes they are difficult to separate... sometimes VERY difficult. Thankfully, that is usually not the case. I will continue to purchase Bunn filters for my Bunn coffee maker as long as they are made available. But just in case, I have stockpiled a few boxes!!!

... with a number of paper coffee filters that were perfect for this machine
By Robert M Rice on Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2015
I have a BUNN NHS Velocity Brew 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer that came with a number of paper coffee filters that were perfect for this machine. These BUNN BCF100-B 100-Count Basket replacement Filters were purchased to use when the original supply of paper filters ran out. On the box of Bunn Genuine filters appears the slogan which reads "Our Filters Tower above the rest". While this is a nice slogan, my experience with these filters is such that these filters do not tower quite high enough. When emptying the basket of coffee with the filter, you can see how the coffee grounds go all the way up to the top of the filter and in most places, even above the filter paper rim onto the sides of the plastic brew basket. Disposing of the filter and trapped coffee grounds tends to be a messy proposition as there is no room to grab the filter without getting grounds all over your fingers. They are supposed to be the only filter Bunn recommends but these come up short in my opinion. The filter, it seems, needs to be just a quarter inch higher to prevent coffee grounds from flowing over the paper rim. So far no grounds in the coffee pot, but cleaning the brew basket tends to be more of a cleanup and grounds need to be rinsed from the basket itself. The original filters shipped with out Bunn Coffee Maker were taller and there was no mess. I'm looking to see if there is another Bunn filter that is meant for 12 cup brewers which perhaps might just be the difference maker.
