University Dance Club Approved!
By David on Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2010
I've been looking into getting a decent set of speakers for the past year-and-a-half but so far money has been a major constraint. This past summer I happened to get a well-paying job and was lucky enough to spend some of my spare cash on this for the ballroom dance club I am a part of. It is by far the best set of speakers I've ever owned! I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about with the buzzing noise since the only buzzing I hear is if the speaker set is left on, there's no audio being input, and the volume is turned up. The only other instance is if the line-in cord is plugged in and someone touches the metal tip on the other end of the cord, but all this is the same no matter how what speaker you try this on, even the high-end ones! One of the major perks I found for this is the iPod dock. NOTE: it DOES NOT work with iPhone or iTouch (any version). If you want the same basic thing without the dock for a few bucks cheaper, try the Pyle PWMA230. There are two down-sides I've found, one of which is to be expected. I'm seeing some wear and tear on the plastic wheels after only a month of use, albeit heavy use. The battery life is still solid and the sound hasn't diminished at all since I received it. The other negative is the confusion with syncing the wireless microphone that comes with it to the PA. It's exactly as one would guess (turn one on, then the other) but I expected the microphone's LED to stay lit. Overall it is still the best speaker set I've ever used. I've taken it to parties, used it in a flash mob, and even at an activity fair only half-volume sufficed for everyone in the area to hear it.

Fine for small room
By Joshua Freedman on Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2010
I was looking for something for a room for 100+ people... based on "600 watt" claim thought this would work well... not so much. It does not, as far as I could tell, have a line out jack for outboard speaker. I bought this one instead:Ion Audio iPA03 Portable PA System with iPod Docking Adapter Added an external powered speaker, and worked fine. The Pyle inputs and controls I liked better than the Ion. And it's a little heavier/more solid than the Ion... and the Pyle has an ok (ho hum) mic... but I'm returning the Pyle b/c of the output jack. Had none of the issues re buzzing/noise, sounded fine, and if you're looking for something for a room for 25 or 40 people, I'd recommend. However, if you're looking for a "600 watt" PA, this is not it.
