JBL 4-Way 6" Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Pair)

Bought two sets of these for my daughters home theater room from brick and mortar establishment. Sounded so full and clear I tried out the sound of these using my OPPO 105 attached to HK full width amplifier. I was blown away by the tone and clarity coming from these non tower speakers. These had already been broken in for two weeks at my daughters before I borrowed the pair. I know some people think that does not matter with newer speakers but I would never be certain about keeping or returning a speaker without a brake in period. Loved it so much I checked into purchasing a complete house full of JBL speakers (home theater, Family room, Kitchen, etc... . Price was crazy high at brick and mortar so I said what the heck check Amazon. Saved over a thousand and that was on top of savings from tax. Order two JBL L890, two pairs of the JBL 830, and two pairs of the JBL 820s, and one JBL L2 Center channel speaker. I was concerned about shipping myself versus picking up and inspecting box at brick and mortar. All but one arrived in a box in as good a condition as the ones I initially picked up for my daughter. Amazon is replacing that one no questions asked. (LOVE AMAZON) I thought I needed new electronic turns out I needed to replace my Hi-End Wharfedale speakers I purchased back in 1999 with these JBL speakers that cost a tenth as much AS THOSE PURCHASED BACK IN 1999 (WHEN PURCHASED AT AMAZON). I never realized how heavy those speakers were in the base section compare to these JBL towers. You still get strong base but not overwhelming the rest of the music or sound from the movie. Tried attaching the JBL 830s to a decade old pioneer elite receiver in our kitchen area and the Hi was initially way to bright for my taste. I had to change some settings to reach the sweet spot again with my old favorite receiver. My new receiver that supplies sound to the movie room and the family room needed no such adjusting; however music and movies are played by my OPPO 105 . If you ever want to treat yourself to the most serious upgrade in music and movies (especially in DVDs played on screens 150 inches and larger), the OPPO 105 and these affordable JBL speakers. In my 50 years of chasing my idea of great music and movies sound in the home, I have never experienced the visual and aural performance that I have experienced than from the OPPO 105 attached to these JBL speakers via my current decent but not super hi-end receiver. Its been awhile since the center channel speaker could be heard and completely understood in my house during action movies. Kudos to JBL/Harmon on the way they built the JBL LC2 center channel speaker best I have ever heard. I will say that what ever player you connect to these speakers will be accurately reproduced (that includes the good and the bad) Source material and player matters. But when you can buy a center channel speaker, two towers, and four surrounds for what a decent set of towers cost back in 1999... Well lets just say that I and my wife are happy campers over this purchase. Me for the sound and her for the price.
