PROS/CONS and WHY it's the ONLY ONE I USE
By pleinelune on Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2019
FIRST, here is a pic of the side of my head after using just Velcro rollers and Shaper hair spray. Yes, the rollers help, but it's the Shaper that really gives it more volume and keeps it. I'm in my sixties, so it's not like my fine, thin hair has gotten THICKER! It's also STRAIGHT. The right, or wrong, hair spray has a big effect on how full my hair looks. I started using this hair spray decades ago, but over the last ten years or so, stopped using hair spray as my hair was in a very short pixie cut. I am growing it out a bit, and need something to help hold it in place. PROS: HOLD: PERFECT for me as I don't need a GLUED, BOARD-STIFF hold, just something to help me keep the volume after I blow dry it. It holds, but I can still put a brush through it or readjust and respray. TIP: I fluff it and push my hair in place while leaning to the side I am spraying and it helps give it more oomph and volume. ALSO if you spray, let dry, brush, fluff it up again and respray, it makes hair thicker and fluffier! COMB without LOSING HAIR! - I can not only comb or brush through my hair, but it feels thicker. I sometimes brush, adjust and respray and it just looks better and better. Other sprays I have tried, even slightly brushing can YANK precious hairs out and they also leave my hair feeling flatter and with a weird texture. SCENT: I really don't care for many scents in hair products, but this is light, pleasant and doesn't linger strongly. DOESN'T FLATTEN my hair style! - THIS is really important especially if you have fine hair, that when you spray, it doesn't go on too heavily. SPRAY: I tried Pantene PRO V for volume. OMG. The spray came out so hard, that it would MOVE my hair out of shape and would be sticking up in places like a Troll doll. This doesn't do that. COST: GOT this while it was ten dollars and change, WHICH IS A GREAT DEAL. CONS: ONLY con is when it is regular price, it's a bit pricey for me, WORTH IT, but still a bit pricey, so I shall be stocking up while it's on sale. And if you have thick and/or fairly course hair, this might be too light of a hold for you. There is a SHAPER PLUS that might work better for you. For me, the original Shaper it's perfect. WHEN YOU CAN GET IT FOR $11 or under, SNAG IT!
