Fanatic for Manic Panic
By Vicky on Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2021
Instructions indicated 1 jar for every 4-5" of hair. She has 24" of hair. I didn't realize how much hair she has until we had committed to a budget. I used Manic Panic Flash Lightning 40 bleach. Best ever bleach. I used 4 bottles. We could have used 6. We ad 5 jars of color. Could have used 6 jars or more. Used 3 for initial coloring. Waited a week and used the remaining 2 jars for a touch-up. Not sure why we ended up with teal and not a darker blue as shown on the jar. Possibly we didn't use enough color. We are happy with how it is. The picture shows uneven areas. More color would have solved this. She has a tender head neither the bleach nor the color aggravated her scalp or skin. The aroma was pleasant. I didn't rate longevity as it is a semi-permanent color and a little washes out with shampooing. For 4 years we've used other products and have had hair colored by a salon so we have experience with the process. Highly recommended Manic Panic. Use the gloves and cap. Protect your clothes, use old towels. I spray the tub with Pam or something close so the color isn't absorbed into the finish.

the hair turned out green rather than blue
By Sandra C. on Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2020
The manic panic bad boy blue dye turned my hair green rather than blue. I originally have black hair. I first bleached it with the Manic panic bleach kit. After that we used the Manic panic virgin snow toner. We then used the manic panic bad boy blue dye. The hair has streaks of green rather than blue. I thought using the toner would prevent the hair from turning green? In any case, if I were to go back this weekend to recolor - do i need to do the toner step before coloring it blue again? Or should I go straight to the blue dye? Is there a different blue color I should choose to make the hair more of a blue rather than green? Would appreciate any advice.
