Love this trash can
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024
We really like the shape of this trash can, it fits well in our space. Also, the motion sensor works well, every single time using batteries. The odor filter that comes with the trash can works well to eliminate odors. This is the second trash can like this we've purchased from this company. The other one we had for a year and it worked perfectly until a family member bumped the lid hard accidentally when it was open, and broke the hinge backward so it couldn't open or close on its own. The trash can is very sturdy and holds up well to everyday use. It also looks nice, even a year later. It's definitely worth then price we paid for it.

A nice product -- until it breaks and you try getting customer service
By David W. on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2011
This is the second iTouchless can I've gotten, and I've learned my lesson -- no more dealing with this company. It's a great product when it works, as our first one (the earlier, less square version) did for a year or so. Then it stopped working. We still had enough faith to ordered this MX version along with the AC power accessory. We liked the design a little better (the bag ring was easier to work with), although it was slower to open. Then, within a couple months, it stopped opening altogether. I went to the iTouchless Web site and sent an email a couple weeks ago. No response. I called the company and left a voice mail message. No response. I called again and finally reached someone, who was very nice but kept me on the phone for 20 minutes asking questions -- the Amazon order number, the date of the order, the exact nature of the problem, my address, etc. -- and then informed me, after I provided all the info she asked, that the right person was busy and that she couldn't help me at the moment. She instructed me to send an email to the Warranty department explaining the problem all over again and providing a copy of the Amazon receipt. And if I did all this, what would happen? Well, she explained, within two business days I would get a reply. And then, assuming they approved, they would allow me to send in my faulty lid to be repaired. And I could wait, lidless, for them to fix it. How generous! I couldn't believe she wouldn't simply send me a new replacement lid -- I'm obviously not trying to scam a free new product from them, because the lid is useless unless I've already bought their can. But they expect me to go to the hassle of mailing their defective product back and waiting for them to fix it. Brought to mind the line from "Pride and Prejudice" about Lady Catherine: "What magnificent condescension!" So I'm done with iTouchless. I'm going to try to another company that makes a similar product (Nine Stars -- I see complaints about their customers service, too, but I refuse to give iTouchless any more of my money.)
