Sturdy, clear assembly instructions, attractive.

I'm a 67-year-old woman, and it took me about 2 hours to assemble this myself using a Phillips screwdriver I already own. It is heavy - about 77 pounds in the shipping box, so getting it into the house from the front stoop was my biggest challenge. I stood the long, narrow shipping box up and "walked" it into the house. Once unpacked, no pieces were damaged, and all the necessary hardware (aside from the screwdriver) were included. The directions, complete with good illustrations, are pretty clear. Each piece of connecting hardware comes in a numbered plastic packet, with all of the numbered packets attached to make a long strip that contains the hardware (including some hardware that's not called for to put this piece together - this must be the company's standard hardware "kit" for every piece of furniture they sell).. Each wood piece has a letter on it. The instructions refer to specific lettered wood pieces and specific numbered hardware pieces. So putting it together is pretty easy if you look at the instructions/pictures. Once built, it's solid and attractive. I agree with the poster who said the finish is quite reddish. It is. So be aware of this. It's not going to match honey oak furniture. It is NOT built to hold heavy old tube TV's, so be aware of that, too. It's made for today's light, flat-screen TVs. For the price, it's a great item.

Perfect size, but every piece was scratched or broken in some way. Horrible packaging allowed that combined with FEDEX shipping.
By Jack K Stinson on Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2016
I will never buy another SEI product. Nice photo, but the reality is not quite up to the illustration. To begin with, the box was held together with 2 strips of plain box tape. By the time FEDEX got it it to my door, the tape had stretched 3-4 inches, allowing every piece in the box to slide back and forth constantly. EVERY PIECE was damaged; either scratched or had bits broken off....or both. I cleaned it up and repaired the worst, but no one should need to do that. Had SEI simply used real actual strapping/banding (or even cheap fiberglass packing tape), everything would have stayed in place for shipping. The color is a lot more 'red' than the photo shows. I can live with that. The doors are just pine stained almost (but not) the same color as the rest...not even close to the photo's oak-look. My right side door has 5 knots on it....and that just looks silly...knotty pine doors on an oak-look cabinet? I received 2 of the parts marked 'D', the list says there should be 'D' & 'E'. They appear to be the same and I managed to get them to work, but geez,....either mark the pieces correctly or update the instructions! And don't tape the instruction book to the outside of the box! On the bright side.....it is exactly the size I needed! Perfect fit for my television. One simply should not need to refinish a brand new piece of furniture the day it arrives. Lesson learned, I'll go back to locally purchased stuff from Sauder or Ikea.
