Pinnacle SUB_SONIX 10-200 Bass- MMMMM Over-performance-half-the-price

Pinnacle has long been know for their bass woofers, and for good reason. This is where their expertise really shines. The performance of this bass woofer, speaks directly to the years of engineering that Pinnacle brings to the table. I have had the woofer for a few weeks now, and it has indeed 'broken in' and sounds even better than the nice timber I was greeted with after first plugging it in. Advertised range into the the low 30mhz to the high 20s seems to be the case here. (Maybe it's only getting down to 30-31, but darn it, if it doesn't sound like 29-28-27,....it feels like the theater in that room......) Not a $1000 sub woofer, but one that reproduces music and theater, both very well, and better than anything else under the sun any where near this price point. (I would say you would have to spend about $450 to $500 dollars to find something of this quality in another brand, and even then, this one might be better, I keep looking inside to be sure it isn't a 12 inch, instead of a 10.) (I love paradigm speakers, and have had them for the rest of the home theater surround sound for quite some time, I never matched the sub woofer. Although I love Paradigm, the good sub woofers are expensive! This on the other hand, is a woofer designed by the 'Sub woofer Specialists', Pinnacle has earned, and deserves, that reputation ,.... and it shows with this speaker. Highly recommended. (But keep in mind I have the SUB-SONIX 10-200 That is the front firing 10 inch 200 watt cabinet with a down facing vent, they have a few models which are similar, truly you probably couldn't go wrong with one of those as well. Thank you Pinnacle. Oh yeah, as for the store? Quick delivery, packaged well, Good all around!

NOT made in the USA

Since my last review, this product has died on me. I changed my rating to 2 stars from 3 stars. Also note, it still falsely says made in the USA on the Amazon description page when it is actually made in China. JUNK! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really tire of companies that claim in their product description that it's made in the USA when it's not. I bought this subwoofer as a replacement for a shorted out product that was "designed in the USA and manufactured in China". Lifespan was less than a year. Okay, so I am a big believer in buying US made goods. I believe they are made better because usually the US based company that brands their product also owns or controls the factory. Chinese made goods (marketed by US brands) are typcially outsourced by that brand to the cheapest bidder where the brand company has little control over the finished product. Hence, poor quality products. In the product description, the Pinnacle SUB-SONIX speaker claims to be designed and manufactured in the USA. I was excited to be able to buy a US designd and manufactured product from Pinnancle. When it was delivered from UPS, the box said "Made in China". Opened the box and on the back it says "designed in the US, made in China". Okay, newsflash.... most junk made in China is designed in the US or other Western country. This is not the first company to describe their product on Amazon as made in the US when it's not. These guys know what the description says on Amazon. I presume they hope no one calls them out on it. Well, I just did. This product is an "okay" subwoofer. No phase control. No on/off switch. The sound is is a bit muddled. It's gotten a lot of good reviews so it must work for many applications. I've been able to make it work, but I probably should have gottne a speaker with more features and tunability. To Pinnacle, fix your product description and be honest about where you manufacture this stuff. Thank you.
