These stools arrived on time, well packaged, and in excellent condition. They were easy to assemble - I assembled both in less than 45 minutes. All pieces were included, and in good shape. Everything fit together perfectly. There did not seem to be any need to add wood glue - everything fit together very snugly. In fact, one suggestion I would make is that you have a pair of pliers on hand, because the small wrench included is difficult to turn manually, due to the very snug fit of all parts. The stools are exactly what I needed at my kitchen island and they look beautiful there. Very comfortable for dining. Also, they do not seem to stick out much at the bottom, which is also nice because I wanted them to fit neatly under my island's overhang without jutting out into the room.

I am a teacher and I needed two stools for my classroom. Of course I went to Amazon for this! Unfortunately, when I went to assemble these 1 was slightly damaged and the other was manufactured incorrectly. Now, these are very heavy stools that I had, with help, dragged out to my classroom to assemble before school starts in two days. I was willing to live with the flaw in the first stool. When the second stool would not assemble due to a flaw in manufacturing, I contacted Amazon customer service. I thought they would stand by me as a REALLY good customer and get me a new stool - no matter the hassles or cost to them. I did not want to disassemble the other stool OR ship anything back - I did not have time for this. But, after 30 minutes on the phone with customer service trying to get this resolved, I had to get my life back. I was "allowed" to keep the stool I had assembled and they would give me a 50% discount. Oh, and I could keep the stool that would not assemble.This amounts to giving me nothing. I only had one working stool after all. I am now missing a stool that I needed. My other option was to disassemble the stool, try to repack both stools in the box they had been shipped in, haul them back to my house (remember I mentioned how heavy these are) for UPS to pick up. Amazon refused to pick them up at my school. And the customer service rep would not hand me off to his superior when I asked. I expected more from Amazon. SO disappointed as I buy everything here. (Pictures - varnish chipped off, holes drilled incorrectly)
