Bottle top rolling around in box!

First of all I haven't even opened it much less tried to bake with it so I'm just going to go on blind faith that it will be as good as the other Watkins Vanilla Extract which I purchased from a Watkins distributor years ago...and BTW Vanilla Extract does not have an expiration date as it never goes bad. But the thing that baffled me was the cap was just rolling around in the shipping box! Good thing the inner foil seal was still on tight on the bottle itself! There's just no way it could have become unscrewed and fallen off in shipping! I mention this because that very same issue has been mentioned here before!

the quality of flavors/batches differs greatly in my experience

Unlike some other extracts I tried, Watkins vanilla does work for drinks. It also works in tea and I'm looking forward to making London fogs with it. I'm planning on getting their rum extract in my next order, and if it works... you'll be hearing about my pina colada coffee and tea. Could the flavor be better? That's almost always the case, but the quality is fair, especially considering the price point, and the convenience you get. UPDATE: Yes, their rum works great for flavoring coffee too, it's my new favorite. I made rum coconut and pina colada coffee successfully already with coconut milk/coconut milk powder as creamer, pure monkfruit powder and rum extract. And for pina colada, also an ounce or two of pineapple juice from the can. UPDATE 2: the flavor is vanishing rapidly out of the vanilla extract! I didn't notice at first that it was a CLEAR bottle since the extract itself was dark brown and bottle was full. Rum is in a dark bottle and also I kept it in its box so it wasn't affected like that. I moved all into the fridge and ordered black frosted bottles with dropper pipettes for the current stock that's outside the fridge (and even that I'll keep in a cabinet). I am not sure why they put extracts into clear bottles??? So be careful how you store them. UPDATE 3: I ordered their raspberry and it was terrible. Nothing smelling or tasting remotely reminiscent to even fake-ish raspberry. Bitter and unpalatable in drinks even when you're carefully dosing drop by drop. I do not understand the raving reviews. If the reviews are true, the batch quality then must vary greatly, which is not good. Amazon will spin you in circles with the return process. Not even partial refund for intact, safe sealed product. Either way, the quality isn't reliable, I didn't expect it could get that bad but you can get a total dud. I revised my rating down accordingly and will be moving onto more reliable products.
