Closest to human formulation
By AeTigger10 on Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2020
When Mister Wilson had to have TPLO surgery, I did my homework on recovery supplementation. My surgeon didn't give any recommendation beyond "put your money where you know it works." For me, I can only tell joint supplementation is working when you stop taking it. So, I looked at the formula that I was taking and there were only a few on the market that were close. After I struggled with the other (the cheaper), I switched to TopDog Health and haven't looked back. Mister Wilson was 8 yo when he had his first knee surgery and he rebounded faster than most dogs (including, attentive physical therapy, fish oil, turmeric, collagen). Mister Wilson is now 11 and has torn his other knee (which is expected) and is no longer a surgical candidate, but we are rehabbing him and overcoming this a little at a time. My dog does not know he is a senior and TopDog plays a large part of it. Stiffness/Pain Relief: I started giving it to my sister's dog, Mister Wilson's litter mate/brother and I can see a difference in the stiffness he was exhibiting before. Coupled with the surgical rebound, I have to say that it makes a difference in the overall comfort of an aging dog. Taste: My dog is very picky with food, so the taste is covered by wet food, but my sister's dog gobbles it up. It smells like brewer's yeast and there is a slight smell difference between bottles, but overall, it is puppy approved. It is easily broken up and mixed into food (I used bone broth collagen). Price Point: It is at the upper price range, which for most dog owners matters. But for me, compared to the Vet bills and discomfort that my dog would suffer through, it is worth the money. Mister Wilson is 67lbs (2 pills per day). A bottle would last us a little beyond 2 months. Now I am using 1 bottle a month. Formulation: The big one for me is the Cetyl-M, which is a joint lubricate, is missing from every other formula. I used to trust GNC with my vitamins and tried their doggie formula and my dog, had the worst GI upset (explosive). Every dog is different and I always went to my vet when I wanted to add or subtract something from his diet. I have never had GI issues with Mister Wilson. Over all, I am a customer for life, so much so, I pay for my sister's dog to give him the relief, after I noticed he was struggling with getting up. I know this product works because I have 2, 11 yo puppies again (lab/mastiff mixes). This is the closest formula to the one I take, Navy Veteran with arthritis and I tell everyone with an aging or injured dog, check out TopDog! I am a dog owner and was not compensated for this review.

Pups love them-Hold your nose!
By Megan on Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2024
My doggies were confused at first because they’re hard and need to be chewed well, but now they eat them easily. Personally, my boyfriend and I argue between who feeds them to the dogs, because they smell like straight vomit. You MUST wash your hands after you give them or your hands will smell like vomit all day. Outside of that-the pups seem to like them!
