Joseph Joseph No-Spill Mill

Having looked at this in a store in the UK recently but not wishing to transport it all the way to the Caribbean where I live and work I decided to order and ship it. I was really looking forward to using the mill in my galley (kitchen).... I work on a boat and this was perfect for me as it was made of plastic and had no exposed metal parts that would rust in the sea air. Also the cover over the grinding mechanism looked great as we all know that most mills leave a mess behind when you have used them. I put the batteries in for the first time and tried to use the mill.... A very weak grinding noise came out of the unit. Ok.... Maybe the batteries I have are old, go and buy some more.... The second set went in and the mill ground out a weak sprinkling of pepper 3 times and stopped again... More batteries... Brand new for the 3rd time.... Absolutely nothing this time! Also every time I press the lever in the cover slides up and feels like it will fall off. In short I am VERY dissatisfied with this product. If I tried to return it it would cost me a fortune as I live in an area that is quite remote. Therefore my only solution is to throw it away and buy something else. Comments from the manufacturer would be gratefully received.
