Awesome buy -- saved me from having to listen to Barney for three hours!
By Lisa Cohen on Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2013
After I picked out the Sylvania SDVD7027 7-Inch Portable DVD Player in preparation for a muIti-city flight with my two-year old, I realized I wasn't sure if other parents just turn the volume down low for the toddler set or if they buy them headphones. Surely those free little ear buds would not be tolerated by sensitive ears and would likely be a choking hazard anyway. When I realized most of the hand-me-down kids' DVDs we have star Barney the purple dinosaur, I decided that I would not survive the flight if I had to listen to "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family..." for three hours. I wasn't sure that my two-year-old would be on board with wearing any kind of headphones, but I figured maybe if they were pink and had stickers there would at least be a shot. She loves them! She wore them for days before our plane trip. She wore them on the plane without a complaint. She wears them around the house on a regular basis. She puts them in and takes them out of their little pink bag. I worried because she has a tiny head but they still fit her well. She has some room to grow but these are definitely toddler-sized and would be uncomfortable on a bigger child or adult. I imagine they would fit her through age 5 or 6, if they last that long. I don't know how long they will hold up, but she is definitely not gentle with them (typical toddler) and they still look and function perfectly, four months after purchase. No, this is not high fidelity sound and if you listened to them you would probably think they were a little quiet and not the highest quality, but they are by no means awful. And I never have to listen to Barney and his friends -- my daughter knows that if she wants to watch the purple dinosaur, it has to be on her own "computer," with her headphones on! Awesome buy, would definitely purchase again!

Spongy piece keeps coming off. :(
By DZEMomma on Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2014
After purchasing several pairs of cheap headphones for my kids, ages 7 and 3, I finally splurged and bought them each a nice set. I love everything about these headphones except that the spongy part on the left side has fallen off at least half a dozen times already and we've only been using them for about a week. I can already envision the spongy part tearing one of these times as I'm trying once again to put it back on. Hopefully it'll at least last until next Christmas. I guess I'll have to fork over even more money for an even nicer set of headphones; Preferably a set that doesn't break/fall apart within a week of the first use. If it weren't for that inconvenient aspect, I would've given the headphones 5 stars. Update: We've had the headphones for about a year now. At some point in the last 6 months, my son had had enough of the foam pads coming off. It started happening to both foam pads, not just the left side. So he taped them on. It's not terribly noticeable, but once you notice the tape, it looks tacky. But, I'm so glad I haven't had to put them back on in 6 months. I'm sticking with my 3 stars rating because he really likes the headphones. The volume is perfect and they're very comfortable, just hated those foam pads coming off on a daily basis and hate that tacky-looking tape is what fixed the problem. I have read that other people have used non-toxic glue to get the pads to stay on. I am considering doing that instead of the tape. Overall, had I known going into the purchase that the pads would fall off so much, I might have gone with a different set of headphones. Since I didn't know, I am overall glad I purchased them because there is a fairly simple solution to fixing the foam pad problem (now that I know about the glue option) and everything else about the headphones is fantastic.
