Don't Believe the 1-star reviews...
By A. Mullen on Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2015
I see a lot of one star reviews for this case and it looks like, in just about every instance (except for one, who seems to be pushing the brand in which she has stock), people were expecting this case to fit the WRONG phone. This is partly Motorola's fault for not minding their model naming, since they have the Droid, the Droid Razr, the Droid Razr Maxx, and the Droid RAZR MAXX HD. It CAN get confusing. But mostly it's the fault of the owner, for not verifying that they had the correct case for the correct phone. This case is ONLY for the Droid RAZR MAXX HD. I switched to this case last year after my OtterBox Defender case start to get overly stretched. The Commuter comes in two pieces: a rubber piece that fits over the phone case and a harder plastic piece that fits over the rubber piece. Both pieces fit the RAZR MAXX HD like they're made for it (duh...), with all of the correct buttons and holes in the correct place. It's also very solidly built, and once assembled correctly - on the correct phone - will withstand casual drops without issue. I've dropped my phone onto hard floors from four, five, and even six feet without issue. Since the outer shell is hard plastic, unlike the Defender, it's a little less grippy, but it slips into and out of pockets much easier. The Commuter also adds significantly less bulk to the Razr Maxx HD. While I'm sure there are other cases that are as good, I suspect you'd be hard pressed to find one that's actually better. This is a great case. Highly recommended.
