I love this headset
By Sam on Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2016
I must say, I have owned my fair share of headphones in my lifetime, which I broke or ruined 5-8 months of daily use, and let me tell you these headphones did not fail me. Sure I took much better care for these headphones then for the other ones that I have owned but after owning these headphones for almost two years now they still haven't broken in any way. They do look a bit worn, the green material is starting to fall off and the patting for the head (for the top of my head) is starting to get thin but even for that they still do their job. My mic still works perfectly and I use it when I'm playing on the PS4 (yes they do work for PS4) and the bass still brings great sounds for my ears. So here is some info about my experience with these headphones. With some photos of my headset. PROS: - They are very comfortable! The ear cups are really soft and when playing for long (say 3 hours) you still hardly feel them! - The sound is incredible. I use these headphones for everything, music, movies/shows, gaming, and they never disappoint me. Even if it doesn't really have a surround system I (which I don't really mind) I still get what I need from these headphones. - I didn't know this at first but they do work for PS4. For me you have to find the right spot in the controller for the mic to work but it saved me a whole lot of trouble from the small in-one-ear earphones which kept falling out of my ears... CONS: - If you have big ears then this headset might cause you discomfort. I was lucky enough that my ears are small but when my brother tried it the ear cups were on his ears. - Same goes for earrings. If you wear earrings everyday then you might want to take them off when you put these headphones on. Even if I have small ears there isn't enough space for both my ears and earrings. - These headphones are quite bulky. Do mind that I have never taken them outside (like on walks or on a bus). If you are looking for headphones that look neat when you go out then these might not be the best choice. That is if you care for these things. - Using them for longer then 4 hours (non stop, never taking them off even once) your ears will get warm and feel kinda uncomfortable and you feel the support on your head on you. So I do not recommend using them without breaks for too long (4 hours is when I started to feel them) - When using the mic for the PS4 it gives me feedback, I hear my own voice a few seconds after saying something but might just be my headphones. That concludes my review. As I said I will have owned these headphones for two years now in late June and they still work perfectly for me and I have dropped them, pulled the cord and everything. So if you take good care of your headphones then they will last long. Hope my review was helpful for you potential buyers.

Take it from a fellow gamer, don't purchase this headset.

I'm a pretty die hard gamer and I've been gaming for as long as I can remember. Because I invest a lot of time into gaming it only makes sense to get a quality gaming set up (keyboards, mice, mousepads, etc). To further my gaming experience and so I've invested quite a sum into buying up Razer products (their products are pretty expensive as anyone who buys Razer products knows)over the past couple years and I have not ever been as disappointed with a purchase as much as when I bought the Razer Kraken Pro. First and foremost, the mic: As soon as I got the headset, I plugged it in and began testing the sound quality and the playback from mic recordings/mic tests via Vent, Teamspeak, Skype, and Sound Recorder from Windows. I tested it at first and then I heard complete silence. I did not hear a word of what I just said. At first, I thought maybe I needed to install Razer Synapse and download some drivers, but this was not the case. Going into the Sound Manager in control panel I boosted the mic gains to maximum and turned noise canceling on. I then tried several more times to test my voice playback and the most I could get was no more than the equivalent of whispering. After a few hours of frustration I gave up on trying to get the mic to work. I began to do some research about problems with the Kraken Pro's mic like mine and I found countless people stating their mics were pretty much the same way. This is such a disappointment considering all the positive feedback people have been giving this headset. Second, "The Most Comfortable Headset" is a sham. This headset has heavily padded cups that will enclose both your ears completely and basically is noise cancelling. It seemed comfortable for the first 20 minutes or so and then my ears began to began heating up quickly and the sides of my head began to ache because of the pressure the headset exerts on the sides of your head. I will say however that the headset's aesthetics look very pleasing if you are into vanity instead of gaming, you might want to just get the Razer Kraken. Third, the Audio. The audio from the Razer Kraken Pro is decent, but not of the caliber you would expect for paying $80+. I suppose it's pretty good as far as headsets go if you listen to music, though some songs sound pretty odd with the really noticeable bass-boost that comes with these. Some people may like it, but I only thought it was okay. Forth, the physical state of the headset (parts, design, etc). The design on the Kraken Pro looks good, it really does. The main problem with this headset is that it's so cheaply made that it makes me cringe at the fact that I spent roughly $90 (tax and shipping included) for this. First, the wiring for the analog inputs are as thin as wires get; the durability of the wires make it look like you'd have to buy new ones if you were once accidentally rough with detaching your headset. Also the headset itself (green part connecting ear cups to the padding) is made of pretty cheap plastic. I suppose the design was made so that it would be lightweight and that would add to the comfort, but it seems more like the headset was not meant to last more than a few months even if you were delicate with handling it. I really hope this isn't the beginning of a decline in quality in Razer products. I have no problem with shelling out a decent amount of money on gaming equipment as long as it's made with quality, but this product was complete disaster. TL;DR: Steer clear from this headset, it is cheaply made and the mic is garbage. DO NOT BUY! Not worth nearly a hundred bucks for this!
