Favorite Mousepad! (League of Legends/FPS)
By PM on Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2013
INTRO: A little about myself before. I play FPS games, SC2, Diablo 3 but mainly League of Legends the majority of the time so I need speed, accuracy and precision when playing those types of games. Started off with the Goliath and used that for 3 yrs, then moved on to Scarab for 2 yrs and wanted a change so now onto this and it is by far my favorite mousepad to date. At this time it has been a month with this mousepad meaning about 100+ hrs of gaming (trying to grind through ranked in LoL) PACKAGING: The box is a little heftier, with a pretty sturdy and secure carrying case about the size of a 17 in laptop. It's a nice case that will definitely protect the mousepad during travel but it's a bit large for my taste because the Scarab came in a very skinny cloth-ish type case but honestly I've never used the carrying case since I never transport my mousepad, never needed to. SIZE/FEATURES: Size wise it's perfect, not too big and not too small. Literally the same size as my old Scarab. The grip of the bottom of the mousepad has definitely improved and it shouldn't move unless you apply abnormal mouse movements. The top texture is very smooth and cold to the touch. The mousepad is very thin leaving a slimmer profile, it's almost as if it's the same level of the desk, I don't notice the elevation change but it def helps with the wrist strain/pressure that you may get from taller mousepads. The mousepad doesn't bend and seems very durable, haven't had any issues and no scratching so far. PERFORMANCE: The mousepad is amazing for all games because it allows me to slide across the pad with ease and very quickly/smoothly. It's perfect for all game types honestly, especially for League and SC2. The glide is smoother than textured mats, it slides across effortlessly without the friction you get from the textured mats. They say textured mats help with accuracy and precision because of the way it reflects of the surface, I really couldn't tell the difference between the two mats on that, they're just both great. The mat just seemed to provide better movement speed and the precision and IMO accuracy can be adjusted with your mouses DPI settings. CONCLUSION: Just a couple things to point out, you should probably keep your mouse feet clean and wipe the mousepad off once in awhile, it'll help with performance and durability of both your pad and mouse. If you have sweaty palms you'll definitely see it, just keep a microfiber towel around or something. This problem happens with all pads but it shows more on the matte finish. Overall probably my favorite mousepad; great ergonomics, features, performance and looks amazing with my setup. Would recommend this to everyone and if it's a price thing or you just don't like the idea of the Manticor, I'd probably go with the Destructor 2, which took the place of the Scarab, since it's the same exact thing except plastic and textured so it will give you a bit more control. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, hope this review helped!

Noisier than expected.
By N. D. Lay on Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2018
This is a nice mousepad. It is one of a few larger area, hard surface pads out there. Definitely has the right amount friction, and all of my mice track well on it. It's always cold, which I dig, but I know some players have a hard time with cold hands - so keep that in mind. It comes in a large plastic travel case which seems solid enough. I knock it for 2 reasons: 1) the price. i think this pad is probably priced right as a luxury item, but i was skeptical that a funtioning mouse pad should cost $50...and as i look at the thing, i think i'm right. 2) it is noisy. i played on this pad for a few days and i could not get over the sound. I did some very informal testing by comparing it to my steelseries 4hd and bamboo veneer desk top. It is louder than either of those surfaces, but not by much. it took me a minute, but i figured out why it's so distracting. It has a higher pitched sound. It's a little sharper. It sounds like someone walking through the grass in PUBG. It sounds a little windy. It sounds like someone sneaking around a bush in DayZ Standalone. It isn't a perfect analog, but it's close enough to be distracting.
