This fan blows, in the best, silent way
By Mark Bush on Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2025
I'm a little late to the party... Like, almost 8 years. I bought my Rowenta Turbo Silence back when it was $100 with free shipping on August 31st, 2017. At the time I thought it was expensive since I was a broke 20-something but I couldn't deny the reviews. Here I am, 8 years later. This thing is still kicking, remote still works perfectly (on/off and speed settings), and it still oscillates when we want it to. Make sure to clean the edge of the blades at least once a year. It's super easy to disassemble and reassemble, cleaning it takes 5-10 minutes from start to finish and keeps the airflow at peak performance. I'm in the Arizona desert, so I don't have any humidity / rust issues that people in Hawaii may have, but I can say the bearings are still perfect and it's still ultra quiet. Honestly this is the best fan I've ever had, better than Lasko, better than any tower fan... When I'm an old grandpa, this will be the fan sitting in my living room that my grandkids will remember. And at this rate, they'll inherit it, too, because this thing is as good as it was brand new, basically running 24/7 since it arrived. Well done, Rowenta! 11/10, the highest rating I've ever given.

GRILLS RUST -- Don't Buy This Fan!
By Steven Crisp on Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2015
So here's the thing. I originally loved this fan, until it became unusable. PROS: Fan is quiet, powerful, heavy (solid), looks nice, and we use it daily to keep us cool. We liked it so much, we bit the bullet and bought three! CONS: The grills rusted in less than one year, and now are completely unusable. In fact, they ruined two of my wife's shirts when she was moving the fan. The fans have always been used indoors. We live in Hawaii (which is why we need fans), but do NOT live near the water, so it is not exposed to salt spray or anything like that. BIG FRUSTRATION: Customer service was not what one would expect from a company that charges $120/fan (and for a customer who purchased three of them). I've spent hours taking pictures and e-mailing back and forth (16 back and forth e-mails and counting). At first, they told me it looked like dust and grime, and to wipe it off -- and they stated (and I quote) "Since these fans are stainless steel, they cannot rust." Ah, if only it were true! We tried cleaning the grills as they recommended, and when that did nothing, we even tried with a little Brillo pad, but none of the RUST was coming off (we took more pictures and sent to them.) So what would it take for me to change this review? Simple. Send me new grills (and I will happily return the old ones so they can learn from my pain what must be a fault in their design or manufacturing). So far, we remain at an impasse. My next step is to request a full and total refund of all three fans. And to keep making sure all new or potential customers realize the problems with this very expensive fan, and with the failure of their customer service to stand behind the product.
