sounds great....especially for music.

I bought this device a month ago to replace a lower end NAD (t737) home theatre device, which sounded great, but was hard to set up and not friendly for the rest of the family using the system. Our system includes apple tv, hd comcast cable, a blue ray player, 5 year old 50" samsung flat screen and 'oversized' Energy speakers for a small room. PROS: great looking, easy to set up (only snafu was that it took awhile to recognize sub) easy to navigate, and sounds Freaking Awesome. Really the sound stage is impressive for music.I loved the NAD, but the Harman has a really special, rich sound. I look forward to watching Treme every week just to hear the intro song in all of the detail. You can pick out subtlies between instruments. Even the wife is impressed. The low power energy saving feature is cool and sexy. CON: like everyone else says the remote is cheap. The buttons are small and the volume control is not set off fom other buttons. The remote is organized well. It just needs to be slightly beefier. Conclusion: I did a lot of research before buying and I am very happy with my purchase. My first time with a Harmon Kardon. Amazon was great, they worked with me to fix a shipping issue. I actually had two of the devices in my possession at one time. Ordering was easy. I emailed Harman some questions before buying and the tech-customer support was helpful in clearing up a set up question.I recommend this product.

Randomly decides not to work sometimes
By Aviel Dahaman on Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2018
I bought this about 6 months ago and while most of the time it works fine, it occasionally decides to not play any audio coming in from any source. And sometimes it won’t even play video from some sources. Doesn’t matter whether the sources are HDMI or analog, when this problem hits nothing works well. So far the only way I’ve found to fix it is by unplugging it for a good while and then plugging it back in. This happens maybe every 3 weeks on average. It’s an incredible hassle and I hate this AVR more every time it happens. If I had the money now, I’d already be looking for a new one.
