They really work, if a tad overpriced
By Timothy Humphrey on Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2011
I wear contacts while working on the computer at work, and naked eyes at home. One problem I always had at work is I would feel very tired a few hours into working. I stopped wearing contacts for a long time, years, and that problem went away. So I deduced my contacts were somehow causing me to feel drowsy. When I heard about these computer glasses I did some quick research and found people who said they really worked but just complained about the price. Since I was wanting to start back wearing contacts I just had to buy these. First, they really do put a yellowish tint on everything, but after a while you just get used to white backgrounds being a tad yellowish. There is a +0.2 diopter prescription on the lenses so they're a tad like weak reading glasses. But personally I think it's the amber tint that really makes these glasses shine. I no longer feel drowsy while wearing my contacts when doing computer work. This is a huge plus because I can actually be more productive. I had a coworker try them out and he immediately noticed a difference. He, like I, discovered the screen is a lot easier to look at with these glasses than without. He doesn't need contacts or any vision correction to see normally, but even still he experiences headaches after using the computer for long periods; we're both software developers. If you can find amber tinted lenses you can probably get the same effect as these glasses for a cheaper price. I think these should be priced around $50 or $60 maybe. Regardless, they do work as advertised so I'm happy with my purchase. As a side note I've also tried some natural vision recovery throughout the years. One basic idea as to why so many people develop bad vision is because of excessive focusing of the eyes on close objects, computer screens and books the most common. I really think people need protection for their eyes if they're doing prolonged amounts of near work, the same as people operating heavy machinery have ear protection. I think glasses like these can help in this regard.

Disappointing because I had read so many good things about Gunnars
By fr33f4ll on Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2014
I got these as a gift for my wife and myself so I didn't start using them right after I got them. We both stare at a screen all day and could use the eye relief. Although the yellow tinting definitely works BUT the lenses are either warped or definitely have some magnification. We thought it was us but now after letting several other people try them on they all noticed it. Because of this issue we get headaches after wearing for a while. Disappointing because I had read so many good things about Gunnars.
