pleasant taste, not overly-sweet

Tom's of Maine has been my go-to toothpaste for many years. Tom's of Maine Fluoride-Free Antiplaque & Whitening Natural Toothpaste, Peppermint, 5.5 oz. (Pack of 2) works well for my sensitive teeth. You don't need much toothpaste each time you brush your teeth, so the 5.5 oz. size will last a long time. The toothpaste foams up nicely, but not too much. Tom's of Maine Fluoride-Free Antiplaque & Whitening Natural Toothpaste, Peppermint has a pleasant taste and isn't overly-sweet. I'm not sure if it really whitens my teeth, but it checks all the other boxes I look for in a toothpaste, such as natural ingredients.

Leaves A Residue Like Feeling On My Teeth

For quite a while I've been thinking of going fluoride free with my toothpaste. I already use a water filter to remove it from my tap water. And, of late, I've also been more aware of the artificial dyes in what I consume, and want to move my family away from those as well. I thought this version of Tom's toothpaste would be appropriate for my needs. I have to say however, I do not like it. After bushing with it, I feel like there is a film left behind on my teeth. My teeth do not feel clean after using it. There is no texture to it, it does not feel like a paste, but rather it's like brushing with something that's the consistancy of pudding. For now, I'll go back to my Crest Pro-Health and keep searching for a toothpaste that works for me.
