Best color laser for price I've ever owned
By R. Harshbarger on Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2018
I got mine thru Adorama for $179 with free shipping. The funny thing is that NEW Ricoh brand toner costs about $379 right now. If you could still get the printer for that price, it would be just easier to buy a new printer (starter cartridges have about 90% toner of new cartridges) but the price has gone way up... But Ricoh has newer models that are nearly identical for $199 (Adorama on Amazon again). OR you can get the generic refill bottles of toner on Amazon for about $40. Anyway... because I read the reviews ahead of time, I knew this printer used "older technology" and would be a nightmare to set up on my network, I didn't even bother trying. Soooo, I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my Mac Books, stuck in a long USB cable and whenever I need to print anything, I walk my laptop over to the printer in my bedroom, turn the power on, plug in the usb and hit PRINT. Works GREAT! Prints duplex! Prints color! Prints color well! My caveats (or, Your Results May vary). I use this printer for limited home use. I ONLY use the USB cable - on a Mac. After a year, I am still on my starter cartridges and haven't tried the cheap refill bottles yet. I haven't used the SCAN or FAX functions on this printer (not really worth the hassle of reading the giant manual... if I knew where I put it.) I am extremely pleased with my purchase and value even if I don't use it to its full ability... I am torn on whether I will buy a new printer or buy toner when my supply runs out. After all, I could still learn how to use it as a scanner/fax without the print function I supposed, or I could strip it for "robot parts" and just use a new, slightly more modern printer. Yes, this printer is big, heavy, noisy, and not the fastest thing in the world, but it prints great, is easy to use, and was cheap with free shipping ($179)! Get yourself one and I don't think you will be disappointed.

It worked great until that moment

It did it all very well. After 1 year and 3 months, two pieces of plastic broke and the printer would cost too much to fix, now it's going in the trash. It worked great until that moment.
