The Only Top Coat I Use, 15 Years & Going Strong!
By helixy on Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2025
Painting my nails has been a hobby since I was a teen. I've tried a lot of products over the years, and Seche Vite has a well-earned position in my routine. Good to Know: - Strong smell - make sure you have good ventilation! - May have a learning curve! - Apply sooner than you think you should in comparison with other top coats; look up the "floating" application method. - For best results, use more than you think you need, because it shrinks a little as it dries. I love: - Its durable, shiny finish. - How fast it dries - I won't make any wild claims that its a one-minute dry (this is a lie in any product) but it is noticeably faster than competitors! I've purchased dozens of bottles over the years, and happy recommend to others!

Looks nice, but it has problems
By KT1600 on Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2025
First issue - shrinkage. I kept wondering why it didn't cover my whole nail when I thought I painted carefully over everything. It shrinks as/after it dries. 2nd issue - it seems to peel easily? I've never had this with any other nail polish/topcoat/etc. Maybe it has something to do with the shrinkage, but the edges seem to peel up on their own after a week or so. Obviously this makes your manicure deteriorate quickly once it starts peeling. 3rd issue - takes a while to dry. The worst part about doing my own nails is how LONG the stuff takes to dry/harden. I'm a busy person with lots of hobbies, and this stuff takes longer than average to dry/harden. 4th issue, more irritating than problematic - it gets stringy. Not sure if it's because it's "old" or because the bottle is getting low, but it's pretty stringy to deal with. It doesn't seem to affect the outcome of the application, but it's irritating. With all this said, it does look nice if you can avoid the appearance of shrinkage/uncovered edges. It's plump and shiny.
