Update Correction: 5 stars for looks... 4 stars for performance... 5 stars for customer service

Within the first month the case had bent (not the phone, the case) and would not close entirely. LifeProof replaced it for me free of charge very quickly. They were super fast to correct the problem. It's now been 6 1/2 months. It has worked okay, however, the silencer toggle switch has just recently torn all the way through (with normal use) to the point where the case is no longer water proof. I don't know yet if LifeProof will stand behind their product or not and send me another one. I have submitted a request to exchange it. I'll follow up this review once I find out. In regards to performance, I have been very disappointed with the rainbow effect on the screen. Additionally, there is now a buzzing sound at my ear. Thought it might be on the other end, but the buzz goes away if I press my ear harder to the phone. The best part about this case is it's slim profile, but is it really worth it's price?... I guess it now depends on whether they will stand behind their product after 6 1/2 months. Update: I emailed their customer support to see what they could do to replace the broken case. They replied by email saying that they do not handle warranty issues over email and asked that I would call their customer service (conveniently providing the number to call). I called today and they reissued a new case immediately with next to no questions asked. I just paid $5 for shipping. Excellent service! I'm hoping the new case lasts longer than my prior two cases and I hope the other issues have been resolved since they first came out. Probably wishful thinking. Update 2: I had started out rating this product 4 stars (5 for looks, 3 for performance and ??? for customer service) but after my recent experience with them, I have changed my rating to 5 stars. I received the new replacement case quickly and I love it! No wishful thinking that they would improve their product- The rainbow effect is gone, the charging port is bigger to fit my aftermarket chargers and the silencing toggle switch is more sensitive. Life Proof nailed it this time! Great product, great company!!! Update #3: Correction to my previous update- the case screen still has a rainbow effect. It started to appear this morning but I could only notice it when the phone was black/blank. Has to do with with the plastic touches the iPhone's actual glass screen. Being a brand new case, it took a little time for the screen to break in and actually touch the glass. At any rate, it is not extremely noticeable yet, only when the phone screen is blank/black. I imagine it will worsen with time like the previous case.

So far this appears to be a great case! The following is my experience for some of the recurring issues others complained about: Water Leaks: I’ve only had the phone for a few days, but Lifeproof water tests each case before it is sold and recommends you test it for 30 minutes without your phone snapped in the case. After my 30 min test the phone was bone dry. Time will tell if the gasket holds and continues to be leak proof. Sound Degradation: I was concerned about this as well when other reviewers stated people could barely hear them when talking on the phone. After making several calls I had no issues with hearing the caller or the caller hearing me. There may be a slight degradation in volume but it was negligible. Silent Button: I admit when I first snapped my phone in silent button on the side of the phone did not work. I took the phone out and repositioned the switch on the phone (male) to line up with the corresponding indentation of the switch on the case (female) and snapped the phone in. After that it worked fine Touch ID: This works fine for me however there are little bubbles on the membrane and it feels a little squishy when touched compared to the naked button. Not a real issue for me but this could be a concern for some customers. Plastic Screen Protector: I found that the screen protector works well and doesn’t feel like plastic once on the phone. There may be some slight degradation in the screen clarity when the phone is on and there are indeed some “rainbow” effects on the screen when the screen is dark (think oil in a rain puddle effect). However these are NOT visible when the phone screen is on. Lightning Port Cover: So far I have found the cover to snap tightly and appears to be well made. No issues so far for me, but again I have only had the case for a short time. Lightning Port/Cable: It is true that only the Apple Lightning port cable will fit into the port. Third party cables will not work. This is not an issue for me as that is all I used to charge my phone anyway, but if you use third party cables this may be a consideration for you. If using the Apple cable you do NOT have to take the phone out of the case to charge it. White/Gray Color: Overall I think the case looks really sharp, however in the pictures I thought the back of the case was going to be gray not white. Still looks good, but it will most likely get dirtier quicker. That being said I only paid $58 on Amazon, so a good buy IMO Overall, very pleased with this product. I will however be curious to see how it holds up in 6 months-year. UPDATE***** Welp, now...not so good.( I had rated this product 5 stars back in Jan). While the phone case was great over the summer using my phone in and around the pool, the thin membrane on the touch id button is now torn and the case is no longer water proof...which was the whole point of buying this case in the first place. If you only need a case for 10 months or you don't care that it's fully water proof than it's a great case otherwise you may want to look elsewhere.
