Outstanding Food Processor
By Long time amazon shopper on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2025
I got it to replace a 9 year old Cuisinart after the work bowl locking mechanism finally gave up the ghost. Though the machine did its job (or so I thought), the work bowl and lid were flimsy and broke if you looked at it wrong. I re-glued the locking mechanism back together numerous times. It was also difficult to clean. To replace the crappy work bowl and lid was $110. Nope. I settled on the Breville based on my satisfaction with other Breville appliances I have and on reviews online and on UTube. It does not disappoint: Fast, quiet (relatively), and the blades are sharp as blue blazes. Bowl is much sturdier than the Quisinart and the locking mechanism is much less sensitive and easy to use. I’ve done Oreo cookie crust, sliced potatoes, chopped onions, garlic, tomatoes, and cilantro for salsa. Cilantro was perfect. Cut, not bruised. Worth the investment for sure!

Parts not dishwasher safe
By Dee on Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2024
This was touted as dishwasher safe, but the large pusher piece says not dishwasher safe right on it and the instructions say that the 12 cup top unit is better to hand wash but could be washed in the dishwasher top rack "occasionally." Well, it's too large (too tall) for the top rack of the dishwasher, and I have a deep top rack. The other problem is that the processor has a spindle which has to be inserted with the blade. It's two pieces inside each time you use this (see picture). The top of the spindle is metal and sharp (the bottom is plastic) and I cut myself when pulling it out to wash because I pulled it out from the top. You expect the blade (second piece) to be sharp but I wasn't expecting the spindle on top to be sharp. And who is going to remember to pull the spindle by holding the plastic part, not the top sharp part, or even see which part is sharp when it is covered with food remnants? I have not used the slicer and shredder attachments yet. So I can't comment on those. Had I not thrown the box out I would have returned it. I just tried it out to make sure it had power and then threw the box out. I was not focusing on the design initially. DO NOT BUY. I had a Cuisinart before and it is designed much better.
