Very Impressed
By Tristan Banks on Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2025
I was very skeptical when ordering this, but I figured I could return it in the worst case. I decided since I've been hiring out my snow removal for the last four years that it was time to sell my trusting gas powered 2 stage snowblower, the rusty but trusty machine that will never die, I ended up getting it sold within a day, spent the next two weeks on Marketplace, searching every big box store, trying to decide which electric snowblower to buy. The main reason for purchasing was to create more room in my garage since I only use a snowblower for cleaning up the sidewalk, garage apron, and big snow mound after the plow comes by, I ended up buying Greenworks because I already have a backpack blower with the 80v battery. I've had 3 chances so far to use it and so far so good, I was very surprised at how well it works, I've done the entire driveway twice already (snow plow guy only comes for 3" or more) and did not think I would get it done before the battery was dead and it did with 2 bars left on the battery. I have a long driveway and parking area, over 3000sqft to plow. No more gas, no oil, it's perfect, and best part it gets right down to the blacktop. Love it.

Do NOT buy!
By Alfred Schmidt on Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2025
Minor issues: Box came with a metal part peeking out. Tuned out to be the chute handle. And of course it was bent. Ok, contacted support and got a replacement. However, I am very concerned about the construction. It is all plastics. Even the impeller. Not metal, not reinforced, no, plain plastics. Except at one location... Oh my, please read on, we're getting there. Now it came to the test, when the first snow came. Installed the chute handle. And it wiggled out on the first five minutes. Which is bad as it also the switch for the headlights. Never manged to operate these. Again, minor issue, typically the streetlights are bright enough anyways. However, there is one issue that renders the entire device useless! The sleds mounted on the scraper work as brake pads on the concrete. So, they oppose ANY force you apply to push the blower right away. The more force you apply, the harder they work against you. Like in Tractor pulling, only you are the weight, too, equivalent to your push-power. One could lift it a little bit, but then you leave a snow trail behind. And it is not easy to keep it at leveled up as there is so much play in the three-part handle. After trying to work with it, I eventually gave up, worked out way more than I used to be with a plain old shovel but an unfinished job. I think this thrower is a complete misconstruction. The manual does not give any advise, the helpdesk is out for the weekend, so back to to the old shovel with a mental note to myself: "DO NOT BUY GREENWORKS AGAIN, you just burned a lot of money on them." If I give them a second chance, the blame would be on me. (I am aware they are the OEM of many products you can buy ate Lowe's and co - but there I have a local manager I can wrap it around its neck.)
