SOG Zoom Mini Assisted Folding Knife

This is a a near perfect knife for EDC. I carried a flash II for ages and loved it, but I never liked the safety mechanism and it was a little bigger than I would prefer. The Zoom Mini takes care of those issues while also adding a sleek aluminum handle that really enhances the feel of the knife. As others have mentioned, the SOG’s S.A.T. Opening mechanism is easy to deploy and lightning fast. The blade release button is well placed and incredibly easy to use. The feature that keeps me putting a SOG in my pocket is the clip. Like the Flash, the Zoom has the clip mounted on the very end of the handle and it absolutely disappears into the pocket. The end of the handle also narrows creating a super low profile that allows good access to the pocket. When I first got the knife the clip was very tight making it a little difficult to get out of my pocket, but that was easily worked that out. I was pretty tweaked when I had to throw out my Flash at airport security. However, I’m ultimately much happier with the Zoom Mini
