Travel Steamer for Clothes

I only bought this steamer because it is a style that I am used to and the descriptions says it has the safety shutoff feature. From the listing description: "Our safe, heavy-duty cleaning steamer is stylish and designed not to tip over or spill/spit water when held vertically or standing. They are leak proof and have an automatic shut-off mechanism and large & deep, easy-to-fill tank to produce a continuous steaming vapor. This ensures your safety when using the clothing heat steamer and ironer." AND "As the unit runs out of water, it will automatically shut off. You will notice this happens when the light shuts off; however, the power switch will remain in the ON position. If you want to continue steaming clothes, turn the power switch to the OFF position and start at the beginning." I wanted this safety feature in a steamer so I can feel certain that if my college-bound daughter gets distracted and forgets to turn this off, she will not burn the dorm down. When it arrived, the packaging mentioned nothing about this safety feature. We filled it and used it, letting the reservoir run out of water. It never shuts off. My husband was unconvinced so he ran the experiment himself, leaving it plugged in and switched on long after the reservoir emptied. The light never turned off and the unit never stopped heating. If someone believed the listing that this had such a safety feature it would be really dangerous. I resent my time being wasted, and now I'm back to the drawing board to find a safe and reliable steamer. Correct your listing, so it has accurate product info!
