Five stars, integrated app, inexpensive and reliable
By James Tepper on Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2025
I bought this iHealth Blood Pressure Monitor to replace my Omron that was about 15 or 20 years old, and had gotten pretty banged up over the years . This one is smaller, lighter and less expensive than the older Omron. In addition the iHealth has several features that the Omron didn’t. It is Bluetooth enabled, and works with a free app also called iHealth to allow one to upload BP and heart rate into the app with a single click. The monitor color codes the pressures and HR, in case you have no idea what any of the measurements really mean. This is a nice touch but you should be aware that 120/80 as “normal” is only true for (relatively) young adult males at complete rest. For others, particularly those that are hyper- or hypotensive (and honestly, if you’re not, why bother buying a blood pressure monitor In the first place?) normal readings for you might be 135/85 or 105/70, both of which will be flagged by iHealth as too high onto low respectively, even though they may be perfect for you. It’s inexpensive, works quickly and the cuff seems large enough to fit someone with arms 3!x my size (I’m 5’11” and 212 lbs. I’m completely satisfied with this purchase and it’s an easy 5 star review.

Cannot use without downloading their rather useless app
By Don Vickers on Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2025
This seems a decent unit, but it cannot be used until the victim downloads and installs a phone app. The app itself is aimed at selling more products. [edit on 17-Jun-2025] The seller sent a request for more details, and I admit my review above was both snarky and not detailed. I appreciate that the seller is interested and that is a good thing. I purchased this unit for my wife. I already had the same unit and like it. I had forgotten that it required the app as I bought it several months ago. I found the app not useful and deleted it to save real estate on my phone. My view of the app at the time was that the update to the app was too painful and the tracking was very crude. I already use a couple of other apps to track my metrics, so the app was redundant. I added the app back but apparently misremembered my password. I tried the password reset and never received the reset email (Yes, I checked the dreaded spam folder). I even tried to create a new account using my email address and was informed that the address was already in use so the failure to reset the password seems a real failure on the 'server' side. The unit itself is good unit so, as long as you don't mind adding yet another app on your phone, I recommend the unit.
