best and the most quiet
By Peter Kopik on Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2016
I have purchased many humidifiers to compare them to each other. I was primarily looking for one with the least sound. This is the winner by far. While it is not silent - as none of them are - this at least didn't have the high buzzing ultrasonic noise. I ran all of them for 3 days to compare water deposits in the reservoir and around the ultrasonic mist generator. The filtration of this unit was also better than the others. The display is pretty easy to figure out without reading the manual (which is rather confusing first because each button is indicated with a letter then each letter describes the button one above the designated one - but this was my only problem so it's not a big deal.) Not paying attention to the manual first I accidentally figured out that this unit also makes warm mist. This is a bit overkill for me not being a true warm mist, since it doesn't generate the mist by heating the water over the boiling point but just warms it up before it gets to the ultrasonic atomizer. However, I have to point out that I have a real warm mist humidifier which is still louder than this one. So I sent the others back and I bought 3 more of this to each room. I ques that sums it up.

Over-priced, over-designed, and now dead in seven weeks.
By Shadowcatcher on Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2017
For the money, I would have expected this thing to make coffee as well. The reservoir will last one 10 - 12 hour run: just like any other $30-$50 humidifier from CVS/Duane Reade/Walmart. When using the remote for my Sony flat screen I also activate various functions on the humidifier. This underscores the uselessness of a remote control for a humidifier: on/off relative speed can easily be accesses through one switch. Another annoying thing is that there isn't any way at all to fully turn off the blue LEDs on this thing. But the most upsetting thing of all is that this unit comes with a custom/unique filter cartridge that requires periodic replacement. So not only did this cost $200 USD, it is going to continue to cost money to operate. I recommend buying the cheapest ultrasonic humidifier around and replacing them every one or two years: you would still come out ahead. >>>>>>>>> PS - We purchased this unit on December 13, weren't around for much of the holidays (so it wasn't used on a daily basis). On January 28 the unit stopped working: lights out, totally dead. Returned to Amazon and received a refund.
