Great Taste and Great Value
By P. Cortes on Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2025
I'm a caffeine fiend and love a good espresso but don't always have the time to swing down to Starbucks (or wherever) to get one. These pods are great as a daily alternative. A regular shot of espresso is typically 1 fluid ounce (a doppio is two) and costs around $1.25 at Starbucks. These pods cost about $1.30 but each pod makes 7.8 ounces, almost a full cup. So at Starbucks you're paying $1.25 per ounce where here you are paying $0.16 per ounce and that's a big difference. The coffee comes out just as tasty as it does at the coffee shop with its signature creamy head. Granted, you might not want to drink the equivalent of about 8 shots of espresso, but if you are combining it with stuff to make it a latte or something (which I occasionally do) it's great. You can also buy pods that make a lesser amount. You do have to shell out the money for the actual Nespresso machine, but it certainly pays for itself over time compared to swinging through the coffee shop every day. You can return the pods to recycle them (I'm sort of a tree hugger) which is a bonus. Pros * Great taste and texture * Great value compared to commercial coffee * Recyclable pods Cons * You need to buy a Nespresso machine to use them

Great taste, not hot enough, tricky to adjust brew size, pod quality questionable
By Dave B in The Tetons on Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2025
Great tasting coffee. I like my coffee hot and the Nespresso is noticeably cooler than fresh brew or Keurig coffee. It is also rather convoluted to adjust the brew size. Really we couldn’t add a set of buttons somewhere to choose a size? Lastly, I’ve noticed in the past 6 months of so that we’ve noticed what we call pod mis-fire. You insert a pod, close the lid and nothing happens. Toss the good pod and replace it with another and it works. The Nespresso coffee comes with a premium price - the pods should always work.
