Finally, a healthier diaper with a great fit!
By Alise M on Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2018
We’re only one day into using these so I can’t comment on performance just yet, but I had trouble finding a review online so wanted to give a bit of info for those considering purchasing. I’ve been using Honest diapers on my 4 month old and really love the company and product - except for the diapers’ fit. My baby is chunky and I find their diapers to run very narrow. This wasn’t an issue early on, but as he’s grown, their narrow cut has resulted in more blowouts and I found we needed to put him in a size too big just to get a comfortable fit. The fit was still “off” and of course, sizing up means fewer diapers per bundle, which I wasn’t happy about. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks trying other brands in hopes of finding a better fit. I really wanted to use a diaper made with as few toxic ingredients as possible. Unfortunately, most “eco conscious” diapers fit like Honest’s - narrow, which I think is best for a long, skinny baby. I found Seventh Generation, Babyganics and Earth’s Best all to have a similar shape. Earth’s Best performed particularly well from an absorportion standpoint, so if you have a long and skinny baby you might try those. Discouraged by the fit of those other brands, I tried Huggies Little Snugglers and Pampers Gentle Care (FYI Gentle Care was comfirmed by P&G as being the exact same diaper as Sensitive Care, just sold exclusively at Target). Both fit well! However, Huggies puts these obnoxious double grip tabs on their diapers beginning with size 3 which can rub against a baby’s thigh, causing serious irritation (check out reviewers’ photos to see what I’m talking about). Pampers Gentle Care fit great and contained mess well, but my baby got a mild rash - his first ever - which I suspect was from the fragrance. This reinforced my desire to use a diaper with healthier ingredients. I was ready to resign myself to using an ill-fitting diaper like Honest or Earth’s Best when I came across these brand new diapers and I am SO glad I gave Pampers another try. Initial reaction is that these are the same size and shape as Pampers Gentle Care (and, I’d think, regular Pampers Swaddlers) and are also just as soft. NONE of the eco-conscious diapers I’ve tried are soft, so this is amazing! The print is cute without being obnoxious, and the inside contains the same mesh liner as other Pampers. So far, I’m thrilled. If your baby is sensitive to Pampers fragrance, or you have a chunky baby but want to try a healthier disposable, I strongly suggest checking these out! I just hope that Amazon soon offers subscribe and save, as these are quite pricey compared to other diapers in this category - even a bit more than Honest when purchased in their monthly bundle. See my photo for a visual comparison of this diaper against Honest size 4, Earth’s Best size 4 (top row, left to right) and Honest size 3 and Pampers Gentle Care size 3 (bottom row). The Pure Protection size 3 is the diaper in the middle of the bottom row.

For a long time and kept saying I wish Pampers would come up with a healthier diaper because I really liked their brand but would not use them due to the chemicals. With that being said they're not as great as I hoped they would be. They are not very absorbent, and in no way would last 12 hours. After wearing them for one hour or less if I take them off after the baby has peed The inside is VERY wet and cannot be comfortable for the baby. They are not absorbent enough. Andy Pandy is definitely better in absorption. However I feel Andy Pandy is stiffer than the pampers diapers. I may try them a little bit longer because I have a very gassy baby that needs to move around, but for overnight these will not last. Hopefully Pampers can improve this. I would also recommend them moving that mesh layer on the inside I really hate it.
