Big sound, little price
By Carl Fox on Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2020
After reading multiple reviews of budget soundbars, I went with the VIZIO - SmartCast 5.1 Channel Sound Bar System with 5-1/4" Wireless Subwoofer - Black, model SB3651 E6. Purchase date was 6/2020 for $169.99 as a refurbished item. Current new price on Amazon and Best Buy is $250. The setup was quick and easy even when using an older TV (without an ARC HDMI input/output). I was able to quickly plug a Chromecast into the HDMI port on the soundbar and stream audio and video through the soundbar. There is no lag of audio and video, even with "casting" all of my content to my TV through a Google Chromecast. Even if there were, the remote allows you to adjust lag. The subwoofer sits just behind my seating area, and long wires connect the two rear speakers, which I mounted on my wall. Mounting brackets were included, but not mounting screws. Multiple cords are included, HDMI, optical and others, along with batteries for the remote. I compared the sound and remote to the SB3621N-E8M (possible F8M) and feel that this subwoofer sounds much louder than that - even though I am sure they are the same component. I chose this option over the slightly less expensive because of the HDMI inputs, rear speakers and Vizio Smartcast options. I have not had any luck using the Smartcast options yet - but have not spent too much time trying. After installing the app on my phone, there isn't much I can do with it. However, I just wanted a bigger sound which this system provides. Even at very loud volumes, when my seat is rumbling, I can hear speech from the center channel clearly. Great job to Vizio for creating such an inexpensive but powerful home theater audio setup.

Solid product...but I got lucky
By James Mueller on Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2020
First of all, know that this system has synching issues: once disconnected (shut off) the system does not reconnect (blu-tooth sub) with much ease. I ran into this problem early on, and was all set to return the system. However, I discovered that the default setting is power-saving mode, which shuts the system off after a few minutes. You can disable this with the remote. Ever since I did this, I have had no problems. The sound quality is superb, and very tunable. Know that I have only tested this system via the HDMI (arc) link to my TV (meaning, all HDMI connected devices thereto - PC and BluRay), and I've only had it for a week, but so far it works perfectly. I was one of the 65% that seemed so have gotten a solid product. But if I had to do it over, I'd spend $100 more and get something new and with better reviews. Here's my 2 cents: If you are poor like me and just need a decent system for cheap - give this one a go; if money is no real issue and you're shopping around - get the $1200 VIZIO and don't mess around with this one. UPDATE: I've now had the system for several months. Here's the deal: 1. it cannot handle Bluetooth connections (mobile to system, PC to system, etc), so is worthless if you want to stream from wireless devices. 2. if you leave it unused for a period of time (a week), it loses connection to the subwoofer such that the entire system must be unplugged and reset Do not buy this. It has serious connection problems and should never have passed inspection.
