TOP QUALITY

'Heavy Duty & Built To Last.' Purchased for the storage and use of car wash items. One of the best items I have ever purchased, sure beats unlocking the garage and carrying this/that/everything piecemeal and time consuming every time my daughter wanted to wash the car; even holds the vacuum and extension cord. Really appreciate the one piece lid and dual gas-rams to hold the lid open too. Expertly packed with reinforcement for rough shipping, easy instruction/assembly with a phillip head screwdriver, small wrench, ratchet and socket in about an hours time reading the instructions twice and double checking every step. I'd originally planned to build my own design out of wood but never got around (3+ years) to doing so and glad I didn't; I'd have spent at least double in materials, likely days building, hardware, painting etc., plus heavy, needing maintenance and eventually painting in the future. This one is a beauty, sturdy, light enough to move, watertight, and maintenance-free. Happier than a seagull with a slice of pepperoni pizza! A1, A+, 10/10, 5 stars and would highly recommend to others!

Lifetime 60012 Extra Large Deck Box, 130 Gallon, Desert Sand/Brown

I've owned Lifetime products previously so had some anticipation of quality and etc. - expected a medium ish experience. It's about better than average quality overall, however, not as robust as I hoped for. For me - It was not challenging to assemble. However, a clue is their instruction to assemble on a level surface. What they may mean is a smooth flat surface. Since the Side Panels are anchored by screws, one has to align the Top Edges prior to screwing that together - prior to even making the hole since - that is - the Top Edge ALIGNMENT. I laid a straight edge across the top and looked for the best "Compromise" top and bottom and how the Lid may fit. There will be some Gap at the bottom and the bottom will have SNAPPED into place and somewhat locked (though, tough to pull out and redo - if had to). I don't see why some say, - two - are needed to assemble. "Maybe" when putting the Lid down and then bolting the Hinges. But, even then - not really, not for me. However a warning note about the not more than 90% "Up" for the lid THEN would be helpful since allowing it back all the way did make it slide off prior to catching at least one bolt on each side - don't do it on a windy day!! Then, yes, you'd want someone holding/guarding it from falling off, shifting, etc., it will bend/twist the hinge if happens, but, seems there was enough "give" - was not damaged, it seems. So, I've had it a day, and do see it is somewhat "air tight" when sitting and settled in - so, as the warning label says, don't let kids play INSIDE it, etc., if the lid closes and gets blocked - that's unsafe. In Direct Sun as most will be, I did notice that if it is not on a dead FLAT surface, e.g., Lawn, or mulch, the radiant heat will allow it to flex and when close the lid, and being air-tight, a bit, you'll need to chase the corners down, like a "food storage ez pop lid" deal. So, keep it latched as well then when down or, as I may do - find some bricks to firm up under it. If you close it and don't make sure it's down on all corners, it will be open to the elements, rain - not a good thing. -- However too, important to consider - it seems to me that it is made to be on a fully solid, fully flat, regardless of if level surface since the bottom is somewhat flexible and will allow the sides, front, back to go out of "Square", "Plumb" if not on a flat, smooth surface. So, keeping it closed and latched should be another warning. I see they add a "Stiffener" in the Lid, the full length steel "stiffener". However, screwing it in may be with some "luck" since you'd better hope the plastic was well Molded in that area to properly catch the large Screw/Bolt to keep that Steel Rod in place. It's definitely NOT a good place to sit, especially if hot, and soft and "pliable" -ish as this plastic reacts. All these screws/bolts are for hand tightening only - you'll strip this soft, hollow plastic easy if try to make it "tight". Like, even the hinge bolts to the Sides - you'll CRUSH the plastic if more than snug it. You'll squish it literally apart if with the Socket Wrench, wrench it tight - not a good thing with the product. So, I'll leave it there - not really happy with it and especially for the price point I paid. However, there are not really any/many alternatives. And to "try" out these things - won't be fun, repacking and returning, imo. I waited, and read and description compared for a few months prior to purchase. It, to me, needs to be a more nylon, hard plastic and thicker, more robust plastic polymer. I'm not so confident any, e.g., Umbrella Cloth or Seat Cushion product will do well through a full Winter Cycle, fall-winter-spring. We may "test" it with something through this winter prior to committing other items as okay to be stored in it. I kind of want to leave 1-star, really, but I guess 2-stars rates it accurately. I hope that helps someone!
