Did a lot of research on this

I didn't want to spend a fortune on a toothbrush but knew it was time to invest in a sonic model. My son uses a well known brand and recommended I purchase that model, however, my daughter purchased a new brand and swore by hers as well. I read approximately 25 ratings/reviews that covered the entire gamut of electric toothbrushes. This Aquasonic pro brush really seemed to go head to head with the most expensive brand name model with the exception of AI technology (which kinda creeped me out a bit anyway) and was 5 times cheaper as well. I decided that if this brush turned out to be a 'dud' that I would not be out a fortune and could replace it with another brand at a comparable price. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of not only the packaging, but the product as well. The glass is very heavy and thick and will not easily break. The handle has a nice feel to it with a 'grip' type coating which helps to prevent it slipping from your hand. The various modes work well and the unit is really easy to use. Having 5 additional brush heads means I won't have to worry about replacement any time soon and, when I do need to replace the heads, I can use other brush heads as well if I can't find the Aquasonic brand. Overall, this unit appears to be a high quality at a low price. I'm happy with my purchase. UPDATE: 9/27/2020--I am still on the initial charge so it's lasted over 1.5 months. I decided to actually plug the unit in yesterday and it charges well inside the cup. My teeth look and feel so much better, and I am actually a little shocked at the difference between a regular toothbrush and a sonic model. If you are considering purchasing this unit, I give it a definite two thumbs up; well worth the money and great quality!

Didn’t work out

UPDATE: it has stopped working after 4 months. 🙃 I’ve always hated brushing my teeth. I’ve used several types of toothbrushes over my lifetime although I’ve never tried a Sonicare (this comes into play later). Growing up I had to floss and brush every single night and it became such a chore that I have hated as an adult. I went through a phase in my early 20’s where I wouldn’t brush my teeth at night (and sometimes at all for a day or two) because I just didn’t have the energy to do the task I hated. My saving grace was that I still went to the dentist religiously every 6 months and I managed to not get any cavities during that time although my gums did suffer from the neglect. Fast forward to now, I’ve been using a Quip toothbrush for a few years. I actually didn’t plan it—I got one for my husband and his didn’t work, so they sent him a replacement and somehow I ended up with one in the process. My hygienist told me earlier this year that Quip doesn’t really have good cleaning results compared to other brands and encouraged me to get a standard electric toothbrush on sale somewhere, doesn’t have to be the most expensive one. It’s been a year since that convo and I finally decided I was ready for the change. Looking at the comments on the Aquasonic, I was expecting it to be a step up from the Quip power-wise since everyone was saying “it’s not as powerful as my Sonicare.” Well I’m here to tell you that if Quip is a prop plane, Aquasonic is a jet plane and I fear to think what a Sonicare would be. This thing is POWERFUL. My teeth only feel this clean after the dentist normally! I’m only on day two so I’ll update with battery life if needed. It took mine about 12 hours for the red charging light to go off. I plan to stretch charging as long as possible to prevent perma-charging it which can hurt batteries in general. The toothbrush remembers which setting you used last. Each setting has its own 2-minute, 4-part cycle, so you just pick one and use it for that brushing session. I recently noticed that another thing I hate about brushing my teeth is the minty toothpaste so I also purchased some kids watermelon toothpaste—I think I’m well on my way to enjoying oral hygiene for the first time in my life.
