3 year Review. It's a great unit
By Everyday Awesome on Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2025
I've had my WEN 3800 Inverter Generator with Electric Start for 3 years now, and it continues to impress me. It starts up easily every time, runs reliably, and powers everything I need. It’s a bit on the heavy side, but the wheels and handle make it manageable. I get around 10 hours of runtime on a full tank using eco mode, which is great for camping, backup power, or job site use. Super quiet for the power it puts out. Overall, highly recommend if you're looking for a dependable mid-size inverter generator.

Poor/nonexistant customer service; received with dead battery
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2025
This is a nice little unit and less expensive than the Predator 5000 from Harbor Freight that is labeled as slightly more powerful. But I'm disappointed to have received a DEAD BATTERY that does not charge even after running the generator for hours. Warranty service is very slow and they have not responded or shipped a replacement battery after 9 days already. So I've been unable to use the remote start feature which is one of the primary features I bought this unit for! Although it starts easily with the manual pull cord, I'm disappointed with this company's responsiveness. Although they are US based their products are made in China and it seems like their customer service is nonexistant. If you buy this product, get the extended warranty / coverage plan you may need it because their service sucks. The unit although not bad also has a bunch of dumb design flaws that a competent company could easily fix such as having the oil fill buried at the bottom of the unit ~ very inconvenient and you basically have to lift the 100# unit up onto a stand or table to service it. How hard would it have been to make a top fill oil port with a tube? Not exactly genius design here. Same with the battery compartment which although I should not have ever needed to check this or replace it, it is very awkward and tight to get the battery in and out of there and not crimp the wire leads. How difficult would it have been to make this 1/2" larger hmm? Otherwise, it does run smoothly on propane and is relatively quiet and so far hasn't had any problem although I have not even pushed it beyond 2kw yet.
