"Renewed", but brand new, and a Great TV.
By Mary L. on Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2019
The product we received was brand new. I don't think it was "renewed". If it was it was remarkably well "renewed". The TV is great. Great colors, very bright. Samsung makes a very nice TV. I bought the 82 inch model, and it is very heavy. Forget setting it up yourself. I guess it at around 120 lbs or so. There are two different locations that the stands can go in, one around 62 inches apart, and one about 52 inches or so. We bought a new stand that was 58 inches long, and the tv fit on it easily. Make sure your stand is at least 16 inches wide, as the stands are around 15 inches wide. There is a quick set up guide that comes with it. It asks you to set the tv face down on a table, to install the stands. It warns you to make sure the table is larger than the tv, but with the 82 inch model, good luck with that. The way we did it was to lift the tv up vertically right out of the box enough so my wife could insert the stands in the holes they go into. The stands then snap into place, and stay there. We could then set the tv down on the stands. It is a great system Samsung has developed for the stands. No screwing a stand into the tv. Just insert the heavy duty stand into the hole (again, there are two holes on each side, choose the width you want for the stands) and you are done. Brilliant. I also paired the TV with the matching Samsung sound bar, Q60R I believe. The sound on the TV is a little weak for me, only 20 watts. The sound bar is around 360 watts. It is so nice, as the sound bar is perfectly integrated with the tv. When you use the TV remote to adjust the sound, it automatically knows you have the sound bar....anyway, I'm not that tech savy, but it is so easy to setup. I got the "renewed" sound bar also, and it was indeed "renewed". Looks like it was repackaged. Works perfectly and looks brand new. What a great system. Perhaps a little expensive, but so nice. Buy it "renewed and save 1000 bucks or so.

Only lasted 5 years
By Utfam on Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2025
Only lasted 5 years, very disappointing for a Samsung. The colors randomly get super strong, usually reds and blues, like the whole screen starts glowing red, any red gets extra vibrant. Tried all the troubleshooting and nothing fixed it, found others with this issues only fixed after a new motherboard. For that price, I’d rather get a new tv. There were always random slowness issues or the remote wouldn’t respond, they would resolve after being in for a min or two, sometimes needed to restart the tv and wait about 3 minutes until we heard the “click”. We have a 65” LCD Insignia going on 13 years and no issues.
