RIDICULOUSLY DELICIOUS AND ADDICTIVE!!!
By PLI on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2025
Years ago (before the internet was in wide use), I used to buy black peach penguins at a chain of candy shops located in airports. I am not a big candy eater. But the store offered a free sample and pestered me to take one. They look like they will be licorice. But no, they are deliciously peach flavored! I was immediately addicted. I brought some to my mother, and she had the same reaction, even though she, too, was not a big candy eater. So, every time I traveled (which used to be very often for work), I would find the airport chain candy store and buy a quarter pound or so. In time, I was buying a pound each time, splitting it between me and Mom. Then all of a sudden, the stores disappeared; gone out of business. Bereft and craving these peach flavored penguins, I would go in every candy store I passed to see if they had them. I also looked online to no avail. This went on for years. After years and years of searching, I gave up. However, few months ago, something made me decide to try again on Amazon to find them. And there they were! I ordered a bag (2 pound minimum). When they arrived, they were just as delicious as I remembered them to be—in fact, MORE! I have to force myself not to eat 25-30 of them in one sitting, which is quite easy. They disappeared quickly. Luckily, Amazon has the peach penguins on subscription. So, I now can have them coming regularly, automatically, and with a discount. Everyone has different tastes. But if you like gummy type candy, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend you try these.

Chemical at first, then Cola flavor - not all bad but definitely not good either.
By HandyAndy on Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2024
Great soft gummy texture and Coke bottle shape is fun…BUT, first thing you realize when you bite into it is that this is definitely a factory synthesized piece of artificial flavor. Very strange chemical hit to the taste buds - not poisonous or toxic tasting just artificially weird. Then a passable cola (Coke) taste kicks in and is reasonably pleasant. Flavor overwhelms your taste buds or smell sense after one or two bites though and then the pleasant cola taste is lost and you mostly just notice the nice, soft gummy texture. The biggest problem then though is that you KNOW you are eating something artificial that probably isn’t good for you and so the whole experience is NOT worth it. I’m not upset or unhappy that I gave them a “taste test” and likely I’ll finish (1 or 2 bites at a time and not every day…) but this will be a one time single purchase as ultimately they’re somewhat nasty and not worth ingesting. UPDATE 12/2024 (almost 2025) Interestingly since I left the review last February I have not eaten ANY more of the gummies. More an indicator of how much I disliked that initial chemical-taste hit than anything I guess because they simply dropped off my radar. I haven’t been avoiding them as I stand by my original review I just haven’t thought about them as my interest (albeit subconsciously) just went poof! More funny than anything but yeah, I guess I really don’t like weird, strange (nasty?) artificial chemically type tastes. Maybe my rating should tick down a half star🤔
