I don't know much about sound bars. All I know is I wanted a 5 channel and a Samsung product, since I have a Samsung smart TV. I have hearing loss. And even though my Samsung TV is great I couldn't make out the words for the background noise. So I read allot of reviews about many diffrent systems and I came across this one. It was a bit more expensive but it was well worth it and a killer deal. This system comes with a Harmon Kardon bass speaker. I immediately knew I had the one for me. Like I said I don't know much about sound systems but I knew Harmon Kardon is one of the best systems you can get next to Polk and Bose. I kinda hesitated because it was refurbished but it also had a90 day warranty and it was refurbished by Samsung, which I have alot of Samsung products so I know they stand behind their products and their workmanship. This system was a bit tricky for me, but then again I'm not a electronic guru. This system is an great product in my opinion. The sound is great very clear and very strong. I have no problems in decifiering the audio when watching TV shows and my movies, no more what did he say or turning on the subtitles, which my husband hates, lol. And the music through this system is fantastic. And my husband is picky with sound and he even loves it. So I think and so does he that I picked out a great product even my delivery driver was impressed lol. So glad I purchased this product. I would definately recommend this disturb to anyone who's looking for a sound system that's on a budget. Thank you Samsung for another great product you never disappoint.

I purchased this to go with a Samsung QN55Q6, assuming it would be a perfect match. Things started badly. The TV would not detect the sound bar using Bluetooth. I tried a couple dozen times, updated the TV firmware. Nothing worked. I searched tech support. Samsung recommends connecting to the sound bar to another device. It connected to my iPhone instantly. I played some music, and it did no sound good at all. I disconnected the iPhone and tried again to connect the TV. After rebooting the TV, again, and after several more attempts the speaker finally connected to the TV via Bluetooth. It took me a solid hour to connect the Samsung sound bar to the TV. Thing continued to go downhill. There was now a significant sound delay. Lips didn’t match speech. Clapping didn’t match the video of the hands. It was horribly distracting. The sound sucks. It’s not an improvement over my model of TV. The subwoofer is pumping out too much midrange, you can clearly hear where the sub is located. It’s boomy. There was no noticeable increase in max volume. The overall sound quality overall was a downgrade. The bass is louder, but even the subwoofer is boomy and putting out too high of a frequency compared to a true subwoofer, deterring from it’s appeal. Frustrated with the irritating delay and out of sync audio to video, I connected the speaker to the included HDMI cable. The delay was solved, but now the remote control for my Apple TV stopped working. I tried in vain to find a setting that would bind the Apple remote to the volume. No go. I switched back to bluetooth. The remote once again controlled the volume, just has it’s done since I purchased the TV. As before, the audio and video were out of sync. Totally unacceptable. I’m about two hours into the experience by now. My daughter stopped by from college and said “What’ that? It sounds like sh!t”. We packed it up right then and returned it for a refund. For the price, this thing is a joke. I have a 15 year old Logitech THX 3 piece PC speaker connected to another TV and the sound quality completely blows this thing out of the water. There is no comparison. The Logitech speakers go on sale twice a year for $79.00 on Amazon. I’ve purchased several copies and they always exceed my expectations. I picked up the Samsung Sound bar because it is a much nicer looking solution. I assumed that it would integrate easily and work perfectly with my Samsung TV. I was wrong and my opinion of Samsung quality has been shaken. The sound quality of this unit is a downgrade to the TV, except, maybe for the bass, if you like boomy bass. The user experience with the bluetooth frustration, sound quality, lack of volume control using an HDMI cable and boomy bass leave not doubt that this is not a good piece of gear. Save your money and look elsewhere. I have no idea how this unit received so many positive reviews. Perhaps the other users have never heard a decent setup with a legitimate subwoofer. If you can deal with a 3 piece system, the Logitech THX speakers are a fantastic value and the sound quality totally blows this thing out of the water.
