best of the 4-5 purifers I've owned
By Atticus Falcon on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2020
First, it comes really well packed- I was very impressed at the care the seller took when packaging this item. I have several purifiers (one in each room) but these folks make absolutely sure the item comes intact. I'll give it an A in this respect. Second, it's a sleek looking purifier; square at the bottom, cylindrical at the top -- about two feet high and 6-8 inches wide. It's dark gray and I'm very happy with the appearance. Grade: A Noise: on Auto & Fan 1 -- barely audible at all; I keep it in fan speed 2, and can barely hear it. Fan speed 3 is a acceptable, 4 and 5 -- which I'll rarely ever need -- are noticeably loud. But if you ever do need speeds 3, 4, and 5, you can rest assured that this purifier will clean your air well, and it does it fast. Energy-efficiency: it's energy star certified, so I am confident I can run it 24/7/365 for next to nothing. Laser sensor: I believe it, but I have another purifier with a PM 2.5 sensor and sometimes that purifier registers red whereas this one continues to indicate that air quality is very good (under 5). I know for a fact that the other purifier I have is 100% accurate. I believe this one is too (I think) but can't be sure. It's definitely a cool feature and more typical of purifiers at or above $300. Grade: B+ Cleaning capacity: when I walk in to my place, the air is never stale. I've only had this 2 days but the air feels clean and crisp and I know this device is definitely cleaning the air. Grade: A. It's AHAM certified at 455 square feet and has a CADR of 290. Which more or less means that it will clean the air twice an hour in a room that's 900 square feet (assuming ceilings are 10 feet or thereabouts) at top speed (which I'll rarely ever use) My living room is about 300 square feet so my calculation is that it replaces the air 3-4 times an hour on speed 2 (barely audible). It's super efficient and has the cleaning capacity of $300+ purifiers by other well known brands. By this costs $233 (plus tax), so I'm thrilled. Cost of filter replacement: I believe it's $69, every 6-8 months. On par with other large room purifiers. I wish it was $20 less, but what can you do. I like that it's quiet (less than 25 decibels on fan speed 1 and sleep), cost-effective in that it's energy star certified, I like the laser sensor which gives me real time numbers on air quality and I like the ability with which this device cleans air. And it looks sharp. I've had 4-5 purifiers in my life, have one in every room, and this is by far my favorite. And I've only had it a couple of days but definitely think it's a keeper. I'll provide updates as necessary if I think they'll be helpful.

Good product, horrible customer service and NO warranty
By Elizabeth on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2023
First off, I want to say that this is a good air purifier. I've had it for years and it's worked wonders to improve air quality in our apartment. However, the customer service is horrible and deceptive. Long story short, I moved the air purifier a bit too close to the cat tree one day, and my cat, being a Cat, decides to projectile vomit... inside the unit. Of course. It was funny, and horrifying, and just what a Cat would do. It only opens from the top and can't be deconstructed so despite multiple attempts, it couldn't be cleaned. I didn't want particles of vomit flying through the air, so decided to contact Airthereal to see about getting a replacement, or at the very least some help to get it cleaned. Well. My partner and I tried contacting them numerous times and were given the run around. We called, emailed, filled out forms and every time they would say "this is an unusual situation... we're looking into it" - then we'd wait a few weeks and they would never get back to us. We'd try again, only to be ghosted again. It's been a year now, we haven't been able to use this air purifier, even though it's literally just like new. Only conclusion I can draw is that they don't want to honor the warranty and are hoping we drop it eventually. They never even said "no, this doesn't qualify for replacement" or offered to help us figure out how to take it apart to clean it! Just a promise to "look into the open ticket" and then silence. Well now wildfire season is approaching, and we need an air purifier, so we'll be going for a different unit from a different company. It really sucks, because I hate throwing away perfectly good appliances and contributing to landfills. But Airthereal clearly does not care about customer service or replacing broken items. TLDR - great product, horrible customer service, and there is ever an issue don't count on them helping replace/fix it.
