Healthy Hair with Olaplex

Giving this three stars because I'm wondering if it's just not made for my hair, or if I could get the same results with a cheaper oil. I have long, thick, stick-straight Asian hair that is heat styled maybe once a year, has never been bleached or dyed, and which thrives on neglect. I purchased this hair oil because I got switched to a prescription shampoo for my scalp, and it felt like it was drying out my hair a bit. I've been using this hair oil for the past 7 days and there has been absolutely no change to the look or feel of my hair. Perhaps this oil works best for people with some texture in their hair. Also, another reviewer mentioned that they liked the smell of the hair oil. Mine has no smell, which makes me wonder. Regardless, I think I could get better results with a cheaper oil or a leave-in conditioner. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed - I've seen the bonding shampoo and conditioner in this line work miracles for a friend who now uses only Olaplex, and I really thought this hair oil would do...something.
