If you require frequent “wiping”...these wipes were a game-changer for my “posterior” skin care!
By Anonymous2023 on Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2020
When Surviveware says these wipes are perfect for posterior pampering...they are absolutely right! I have a rare medical condition called short bowel syndrome, which basically means that I have to “go” every hour, 24/7/365. This requires a whole lot of daily scrubbing of already-sensitive skin, sometimes during episodes of “diaper rash” (yeast infection), leading to painful skin degradation and ulcers. I’m a physician myself, so believe me when I say that I’ve literally tried every bathroom and body wipe available in the US. Finding these wipes has changed everything for me (in that area) in the most positive way I could have imagined. These wipes are SO soft. They clean skin very well, without needing to exert a lot of pressure. They’re also quite large, so while they’re more expensive than some other brands, I only need one wipe to get the job done, so in the end (pun intended!), I actually save money buying these instead of cheaper wipes, which don’t work nearly as well. They’re very strong; no ripping or tearing while using them. Since I started using the Surviveware wet wipes, my skin has significantly healed: no more painful ulcers. And when I do happen to get a yeast infection/diaper rash (much less often than before, BTW) leaving my posterior’s skin tender and very sensitive to touch, I no longer experience the stinging or burning that I used to (from the added fragrances, alcohol, and other unnecessary chemicals or ingredients in other brands of wet wipes). Another big plus: in the large multiple-wipe package, the last wipe is just as wet as the first! (I buy these in large packs for home and in individual packets for going out.) Most packs containing multiple wet wipes have a sticky resealable tab to (ostensibly) keep the wipes moist; however, in most other brands I’ve tried, usually the bottom 1/3 of the wipes inside the pack are either all or partially dried out, by the time you get to them. Not Surviveware’s. While their multi-wipe pack has a (very) sticky seal tab as well, it also has a hard plastic “box” covering the tab that clicks tightly closed, ensuring that the last wipe in the pack will be exactly as wet as the first. (Another money-saving feature.) The individual packets with one wipe are small and thin; I can fit several into a small handbag. And the little packets themselves are understated, mostly black...they don’t scream out, “Hey, I’m a bottom wipe!” Even my teenage sons will carry these individual wipe packets in their backpacks (or in their shorts’ pockets when they go running or play b-ball pickup games)...and that’s SOLELY because these packets are so understated/black. All 5 of my kids use these wipes for everything else they’re advertised to do. Since all of my kids are involved in multiple sports, they say these wipes are lifesavers when they simply don’t have time after PE, practice or games to shower, before going to class or to another event. Finally, I am happy to support this small business, primarily due to their commitment to improving the environment. I like the fact that these wipes are biodegradable (although I don’t flush them); they’d be a great asset on camping trips. And of course, since bamboo is a natural, renewable resource, these are so much better for the environment than is paper. Their customer service department is excellent. They respond to questions almost immediately. When I bought my first multi-pack, I got a text-in coupon with my order for 5 free individual packets. I even received a hand-written note, thanking me for supporting their business. In closing, there are many reasons why I give Surviveware wet wipes a solid 5-star rating. My personal reasons are different than most, but there are surely many other customers out there who have SBS, short gut/short bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, or other GI conditions (such as frequent diarrhea as a side-effect of chemotherapy for cancer, etc.). Their quality of life could be significantly improved as mine has been, just by reading this review. People don’t usually discuss this topic in public, usually out of embarrassment. And it might sound silly to healthy folks. But for those who are going through the same medical issues that I have been and always will be dealing with...it’s a really big deal to find a great, pain-relieving product like this. Plus, my tweens and teenagers—girls AND boys—LOVE this product, and will not only use these wipes at home, but will actually carry around with them these understated, small, individual, plain black packets: to school, camp, sleepovers, camping, running, sports games and practices...anywhere they go. Thank you, Surviveware! If I could give you 6 stars, I would!

Great wipes but dry out quickly
By Molly D on Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2024
Bought a pack of wipes back in July 2023. Stored them in a cool, dry place. Went to use them in June of 2024 on a camping trip, went to use them, and they were completely dried out. Luckily, they rehydrated easily with some water at camp and still functioned well. If they were several years old and this happened, I would understand. However, I think it’s realistic to expect an individually wrapped wipe to stay hydrated for less than a year. This was my second pack of these wipes, my last ones purchased in 2021 and used until 2023 did not have this issue. Moisture retention issue aside, they’re great wipes for backpacking: large, thick, individually wrapped, soft, clean you up well. We like to treat ourselves to two wipes when taking our tent bath: one for the upper and a second for the lower. One would do the job for your entire body but sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself. Also protip: start at the top of your body and work your way down. Nobody wants to wipe your face with the same wipe you just wiped undercarriage with or hands with foot dirt on them. They are not scented, an additional perk. Nothing worse than smelling like sweat with a mix of fragrance, plus this is not ideal in bear territory when the goal is to keep your camp smelling as little. I am disappointed the newer wipes dried out so fast. We will still use them to finish the package but I’m not sure I would buy them again given the decreased longevity. We rarely use an entire package in a season, it’s disappointing to know I basically need to buy a fresh box each year. I spend more and deal with additional garbage to pack out specifically for the wipes to stay hydrated and not require additional water, which is heavy to carry and can be hard to come by on trail. Water is not something you can always afford to waste on bathing in the backcountry. For these to fail on that defeats the purpose entirely. You’re better off saving money, buying unscented baby wipes, and shoving them in a ziploc bag. If the wipes had stayed hydrated, this would be a 5/5 review. Like I said, they’re still great wipes, even if they dry out, with a little water, or if you can use the entire package before they dry out. Also, please remember that despite these wipes being biodegradable, pack them out to dispose of back in civilization. Backcountry campsites are not ideal composting sites, next person at your campsite doesn’t want to see your used butt wipe tossed in the bushes.
