They Smell Like a Spa. I Smell Like Regret. Balance Is Restored.
By SignalNomad on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2025
Look, I’m not the target demo. These wipes smell like a boutique hotel lobby in Bali, and I smell like I just fought a humidity elemental in the Rosslyn metro tunnel. But that’s exactly why they work. I live and work in Northern Virginia/DC, where the air is 78% politics and 22% atmospheric soup. You step outside for five minutes and suddenly your skin is trying to secede from your body. These Neutrogena Hydro Boost wipes? They’re the armistice. Dainty scent aside (think “hydrated orchid” meets “self-care influencer”), they’re shockingly effective. One swipe and the day’s swamp layer is gone. Waterproof sunscreen, street grime, existential doubt—it all lifts off like I just cast Cleanse at level 3. Hypoallergenic, gentle, and somehow both soft and resilient enough to survive a T-zone in crisis. No breakouts. No residue. Just a subtle reset that makes me feel 2% more like a human and 100% less like I’ve been steaming inside my own face. Do I wish they smelled more like cedar and vengeance? Sure. But when it’s 94° with 90% humidity, I’m not trying to make a statement—I’m trying to not melt. These live in my work bag, my car, my go-bag, and my dignity restoration kit. Highly recommend. Even if you’re not crying off waterproof mascara, these will rescue your soul by 2:15 p.m.

Heavy perfume scent was too much for me
By Crista D. on Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2025
I love all the other Hydro Boost products I’ve used, but these have an overpowering perfume scent. I had seen reviews that mentioned a heavy scent, but since fragrances can be a very personal preference, I decided to give these wipes a try anyway. These do indeed have a very strong fragrance, which I wouldn’t mind so much if it were a scent that was fresh and pleasing — but it’s truly like perfume, and lingers for a long time. I used a wipe just before getting into bed to read, and could still smell the perfume on my hands and face nearly an hour later. I had thought it might fade away with a little time, but it remained strong. I had to get up and wash it off my hands and face. They do work well and left my skin feeling soft and supple, but the perfume smell was so unpleasant that I requested a refund and ordered the unscented ones from the same brand that unfortunately do not contain hyaluronic acid.
