Body Armor Lyte is a Winning Hydration option with great flavors!

I wasn't a huge consumer of electrolyte drinks until I started exercising and, specifically, running about 10 years ago. I'm not really sure what led me to Body Armor Lyte but once I tried it I was hooked! This drink packs a huge flavor punch for only 20 calories. Despite some reviewers' claim of artificial aftertaste, I wholeheartedly disagree. It also seems to refresh me better than water after a workout. Some flavors taste better to me than others. I've tried the Peach Mango, Blueberry Pomegranate, Tropical Coconut, Dragonfruit Berry, and Strawberry Banana and prefer them in that order. The Peach Mango is equally tart and sweet, with also equally balanced Peach and Mango flavor. The flavor profile of the Blueberry Pomegranate is a little less specific but does seem to reflect the fruits its name represents to some extent. Tropical Coconut isn't a go-to either for me to purchase or drink, but instead one of those flavors I need to specifically crave but it definitely hits the spot when I do. Just enough coconut flavor with a balance of fruitiness. I've never had Dragonfruit so I can't speak to the authenticity of the flavor, but it's a nice one nonetheless. I'm a huge fan of strawberries and bananas, but not a huge fan of strawberry or banana flavored things. I likely had this flavor as part of a multi-pack purchased at a warehouse club. It's OK but I would not purchase an entire package of it. The price point of Body Armor drinks is great when I can get it for $1/bottle. I try to always keep some Body Armor Lyte on hand for post-workout refreshment, but I also love to drink it as an everyday break from plain water, or to boost hydration if I have been lacking in water consumption.

Refreshing and Low-Calorie, but Not Quite a Sports Drink. Overall Pretty Average.

I've tried the BODYARMOR LYTE Peach Mango flavor a couple times now and here’s my take on it after using it for hydration after workouts and casual sipping. Taste and Flavor The Peach Mango flavor is sweet, refreshing, and a nice change from typical sugary drinks, though I personally would prefer something more citrusy. The drink does taste a bit artificial, especially on the aftertaste, but it's still enjoyable. For casual sipping around the house, it works great, but it doesn’t really feel like a typical sports drink (like Gatorade or Powerade). I didn’t detect much of a distinct peach or mango flavor—more of a generic fruity taste akin to apple or grape juice, which isn’t a bad thing, just unexpected. Reading the ingredients "Natural Peach Mango Flavor" really makes sense... Hydration and Performance In terms of hydration, it does the job well enough. I feel adequately hydrated after drinking it, but I haven't noticed any significant boost in energy or recovery, which is fine for a low-calorie option. It works well for general hydration but doesn’t give the extra lift I would expect from a typical sports drink. Calories and Sweetness As a low-calorie option, BODYARMOR LYTE is solid for those looking to stay in a calorie deficit. The balance of flavors is nice, but the aftertaste can sometimes remind me of the artificial sweeteners used. Overall, the sweetness is moderate and not overpowering, making it an excellent choice for those watching their calorie intake. Ingredients and Quality The inclusion of coconut water is a nice touch, though I would have liked it to be more prominent in the flavor. The drink has a fruity taste, but it doesn’t have the distinct coconut water flavor that some may expect with 10% coconut water. It's a refreshing change from more traditional sports drinks, but don’t expect the tropical coconut taste to shine through. Packaging and Convenience The packaging is solid, heavy even. Although I appreciate the sturdiness, I do wish less plastic was used, especially since it also already includes cardboard. The bottles can take up a bit of space if you’re not putting them all in the fridge at once. That said, the value is decent, especially when it’s on sale. Overall Impression I'm not blown away by it. I’d recommend this drink to anyone looking for a low-calorie, sweet beverage, but I wouldn’t call it a great choice for a serious sports drink. It does hydrate well and is refreshing, but it doesn’t offer the recovery or energy benefits I associate with other sports drinks. Occasionally, the bottles may be overfilled, leading to spills, but that hasn’t been a consistent issue. Full disclosure, I bought these once using the subscription and guess I forgot to turn it off. Really only drinking them because I have them. Might buy again in the future, but probably not. Final Thoughts For anyone who enjoys a light, sweet, and low-calorie beverage for hydration, BODYARMOR LYTE is a solid option. It's different from most of the other options, though you may prefer to just buy a fruit juice. Don’t expect it to replace your go-to sports drink if you’re after more performance-enhancing benefits.
