Great Value with Minor Considerations – Certified Refurbished Ring Video Doorbell Wired Review
By Keicy Rafael Beltre Feliz on Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2025
I decided to try out the Certified Refurbished Ring Video Doorbell Wired, and after using it for a while, I can confidently say it’s a great option, especially for the price. Easy Installation: Installation was pretty straightforward. I used my existing doorbell wiring, which made the process even quicker. I connected the doorbell to the Ring app with no issues, and I had everything set up in under 20 minutes. Video Quality: The 1080p video is sharp and clear. Daytime footage looks fantastic, and while the night vision works well, it can be a bit grainy in low-light conditions. Overall, it serves its purpose well. Audio & Communication: The two-way audio works pretty clearly, which is great for talking to visitors. The microphone and speaker quality is decent, though not perfect. But for most interactions, it's perfectly fine. Motion Detection: The motion detection is quite sensitive. I can customize the detection zones to focus on specific areas, which is awesome. However, I’ve noticed a few occasional delays in notifications, but it's not a major issue. Wi-Fi Connectivity: Wi-Fi connectivity is generally good, but like most smart devices, there can be occasional drops, especially if the router is far from the doorbell. Chime Compatibility: One thing I noticed is that, since this is the wired version, it doesn’t trigger traditional mechanical doorbell chimes. You’ll need a Ring Chime or a compatible Alexa device to hear the alerts inside the house. Refurbished Quality: The doorbell arrived in perfect condition and works like new. I haven’t had any issues so far, though I know some people have mentioned connectivity issues or malfunctioning features with Ring’s refurbished products. Conclusion: The Certified Refurbished Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a solid choice if you’re looking for a basic, reliable smart doorbell at a more affordable price. It performs well for home security tasks and is a great option if you don’t need all the bells and whistles. While it does have some limitations like not working with traditional doorbell chimes, overall, it’s a great product.

Works great if you pay for the subscription
By Cameron Hollis on Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2024
However once the subscription is cancelled you're inundated with false motion alerts. Not once during the subscription did rain cause motion alerts while on the highest motion sensitivity setting. As soon as I cancelled the subscription the motion alerts flooded in. In the last 24 hours I've received 38 motion alerts due to rain..... despite setting the sensitivity to the lowest level. While the subscription was active I only received motion alerts when a human or large animal was detected. I relocated my existing first gen Ring to the back door. Not once have I received an alert from that Ring due to rain. Although the first gen doesn't have the best video quality, I'm going to put the first gen back at the front door and bin the new scam Ring. Ring is forcing consumers to buy the subscription by way of the intentional avalanche of false motion alerts once the subscription is cancelled. Essentially there are two settings on the same device; one for subscription and without subscriptions. If you subscribe alerts are genuine. If not subscribed, you are so overwhelmed with false alerts, rendering the device useless.
