Swap to electric and thank me later!
By JCC on Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2025
I have been wanting to swap to an electric trimmer for years but when my gas trimmer finally bit the dust I decided it was time. I wish I would have trashed the gas trimmer year ago now. You can run this on high for longer than you want to use it with the included battery and it really will handle everything you would expect. We have a lot of thick Bahia in several areas and it mows it down great. The way you restring it is the easiest I have ever seen as well. I no longer have to deal with mixing gas and my wife even likes to help out with the weedwacking now!

Poor internal wiring connections.
By Big Fish on Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2025
I bought this being a huge Dewalt fan. This broke me into the 60v tools. Saying this, the string trimmer was used very little and didn't last a year. It quit running and wouldn’t turn on. I live 3 hrs from the nearest Dewalt service center. I tried multiple batteries and nothing. I cracked open the case and had to rewrite some terrible connections. Dewalt sells the motor and switches in one piece and you can’t even get the parts. This should tell you something. I spent real good money on this piece of equipment and just about gave up on it before I rewired it. They used cheap clip style wire connections that come with light fixtures. Just garbage. I expect more from a premium tool. The one picture is the type of wire connections they used. I cut them out and used wire nuts. I am sure quality crimps would work also.
