Camera Has Many Uses, App clunky but OK — Hearing Safety a Concern as with Any In-Ear Device

I admit I was primarily interested in this product for its camera feature. While I was hesitant to use it for cleaning earwax, as many professionals advise against inserting anything into your ear esp when poking or scraping, I was intrigued by the prospect of being able to see and even take clear, detailed pictures of hard-to-see areas like my ears or mouth. In the past, there have been times where having a visual reference would have been incredibly useful in figuring out what was going on and deciding whether or not to consult a doctor. So, ideally, this product would be able to help me with all of that and it wouldn't need to get far into my ear and risk damage. I also wonder if the camera might be useful to look into difficult to see places in objects such as inside a laptop. I was dubious if it was going to produce a clear image, but inside the ear it is pretty easy to get a clear view (and yes, see wax) and I like the ability to flip the image left to right to make it easier to use. The image was not quite as good when looking at teeth as it was too bright, but with more maneuvering, it was OK. It did well when examining small portions of skin. The images are magnified quite a bit so that even individual hair follicles appear quite huge. The zoom feature supposed to go from 1x to 10x. It doesn't. I'd guess it's lowest level is very roughly more like a 5x and highest magnification maybe 7x. Not a big difference. I found complaints about using the app for the camera, but I found that as long as you use the BeBird network and not your usual Wi-Fi network, it works fine. The app may take some time to figure out and some practice is needed to get the camera exactly in focus and where you want it, but once you get the hang of it, it's not too difficult. Safety is always a concern when it comes to technology, especially with apps from unfamiliar sources. I was pleased to find that the BeBird app was verified by Google's Play Protect and passed a MalwareBytes scan. The app only requested appropriate permissions and didn't ask for access to your location or personal data. In short, it takes some getting used to maneuvering just to see what you want, esp if you're going outside the purpose by observing things other than your ears, but it seems quite useful for observing and recording photos and even videos of small areas. I can't comment about the effectiveness of the ear cleaning except to say the attachments looked usable.

This was an upgrade to my older Bebird /W3 (I believe) and even though it was suppose to be an upgraded camera and lighting I could not tell any difference from my older model. Within the first week the camera inside the ear canal would not move but the ear would rotate. There seems to be a disconnect and device.
