Lightweight sunscreen that is easy to spread and leaves a faint white cast
By Ricky Cavazos on Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2024
***UPDATE 07/04/2024*** I continued to purchase this sunscreen for the reasons I mentioned in my original review. I purchased more of this sunscreen in May 2024 and noticed that the texture of the lotion changed from when I originally purchased it back in February 2024. The original texture of the lotion was watery / goopy, which made it very easy to apply to the skin / face / facial hair / a beard; the new texture comes out thicker and worm-like from the container. This new texture corrects the issue I mentioned at the end of this review of having to hold the container sideways when applying and when not in use because it is no longer runny. It also corrects the issue of accidently squeezing out more lotion than intended. The downside is that it leaves a more noticeable white cast, particularly on facial hair / a beard. The lotion is still easy to apply to the face, skin, facial hair, a beard. I prefer the old texture of when it was runny / watery / goopy. ***SEE ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW*** ⬇️ The TOP REASON I WOULD RECOMMEND this sunscreen is that it is very lightweight and very easy to spread to the skin, including to facial hair / a beard, without stretching the skin. I have tried many mineral sunscreen lotions, and this one, so far, has been the easiest to apply to the skin and facial hair/a beard. Other mineral sunscreen lotions are thick and sit heavy on the skin, which is potential for stretching of the skin. I WOULD ONLY recommend applying this sunscreen to the face; use another sunscreen for the rest of the body. This sunscreen is ideal for incidental sun exposure and short periods of time out in the sun - driving locally in your vehicle, sitting near windows, or being outdoors where buildings are covering the sun. I WOULD NOT recommend for long periods of time out in the sun. Some of the reviews mentioned that this sunscreen left a white cast and left flakes on the skin - I did not experience a heavy white cast. I would say it left a faint white cast. It did, however, look flakey after it had dried. This is the primary reason why I wouldn't recommend spending long periods of time out in the sun with this sunscreen, while the other reason would be the moderate concentration of zinc oxide. The flakiness did not completely wash out. The flakiness only occurred on my face and forehead; it did not occur on my neck. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS (04/27/2024): As I previously mentioned, I highly recommend this sunscreen because of how easy it is to apply to the face, without stretching the skin. The ease of application is a main factor one should consider when purchasing sunscreen - your skin is like a rubber band and stretching it over time causes it to remain stretched. It also contains an adequate amount of zinc oxide to provide moderate UVA protection. This sunscreen is only meant for the face. Considering the amount of zinc, it only leaves a faint white cast. I am not experiencing the amount of dry flakes as when I first started using this product. Because this sunscreen is runny, do not leave it face down. Instead, lay it flat. Be careful when opening the product and when squeezing the contents out, as sometimes more lotion than desired may come out.
