I purchased a different model on Amazon & have been frustrated & disappointed, so I decided to purchase this one. So glad I did! So much easier to use. However, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Keep these points in mind: 1. The white light on the device only stays on until you unplug it from charging. 2. In fact, NO light is on even after you unplug it & then turn on the device. But placing your hand under the sensor / dispenser & receiving the soap verifies that it's on & working. 3. My device does NOT unscrew to remove the top part (to fill the bottom with your foaming soap liquid). You pull up on it to remove the top part. And you push down on the top to re-engage it with the bottom. 4. At this point, you then turn on the device. 5. A fixed quantity is dispensed. If you want more, merely place your hand under the sensor again. One of the reasons why I purchased this model was based on a review re: how long the device holds its charge. I can't attest to that yet, but I'm anticipating that the length of time will match that in the instructions & in that customer's review. And after everything was up & running, I bought a 2nd one & disposed of the 2 other previously-purchased dispensers!

Looks practical and sturdy but does not last

Lasted a few months, in the trash now. Very disappointing, I liked the practical design. I've had quite a few of these dispensers at this point, you generally get what you pay for. The Simple Human products were far more expensive but also lasted several years compared to this lasting a few months.
