Ahhh, nothing better than stretching out on a bed to watch a little… um… wow, what IS this?

It’s so bad! So, so bad! And trashy! Nowhere NEAR as good as reading a book! When I told my friends I’d give their favorite TV shows a chance… well, I did hope to enjoy them all, but I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s really just a waste of an afternoon, especially when compared to my original plan: lying on my 10” Queen Size Traditional Memory Foam Mattress and reading the new Game of Thrones novel.

Of course, not everybody can be as smart as, what, the three hundred thousand people? Who raced to buy it the first day? But I don’t judge the rest poorly. Maybe someone had to work late, or caught a cold, or just plain forgot to set their alarm. It happens, right? I can understand why someone would wait to buy it on the second day, just like I understand how people can prefer a king or a full or a twin depending on their needs. Not everyone would want to race home and sprawl like I did, across a queen-sized 2.5 inch viscoelastic memory foam over a 7.5 inch polyurethane base, with a brand new copy of A Dance With Dragons pressed into the two included memory foam pillows. So what if it leaves an imprint? I already know I’ll want to remember this book forever!

But now, just when I’m practically done… okay, I’m a slow reader, sure, but I want to savor every word! And what really, really gets me is that, instead of reading my book, I’ve got to lie on a comfy mattress and watch these horrible TV shows, all because I promised my friends I’d give them a try. I know, I know, I’m just so positively Ned Stark about keeping my promises to people. But I didn’t think they’d all be so… television about it! Maybe when HBO’s Game of Thrones series comes out on DVD I can convince them to come sit on my mattress and learn what real quality looks like. Then they’d be comfortable AND educated.

At least they didn’t ask me to watch The Killing.
